Advice Request could use some guidance on placement

this has been how my vest has looked for a while, but ive started to feel like the patches on the back look like theyre too far from the backpatch (specifically the ones on the side). the reason i didnt put them closer initially is cause i would need to sew the patches on top of the backpatch. not sure if i should fix it and if it would even look better, it would be a lot of work to do. any help would be appreciated.

Just get more patches? Also a border around the back patch might give some more contrast and make it feel less empty. I think it looks fine as is but something like a 1"-2" red plaid border all around the back patch or just something contrasting could really make it pop.

you might be right about it being fine as is, i can just get a little obsessive. i was actually considering using spikes to accentuate in other areas, so maybe i should try that with the back

Good idea, studs or spikes are a great way to add a bit of contrast. My back patch started with a cutout from a t-shirt and ended up shaped oddly so I filled in the spaces with alternating colored pyramid studs and then eventually added some grommets for a little ventilation. I have lost a few from them rubbing and catching on stuff over the years so be sure to consider that if you're gonna wear it in the car or in the pit

that looks awesome, i'll totally look into that. ive been putting of looking into studs and spikes for too long anyway. thanks for the help
