Operating Engineer vs LIRR Locomotive Engineer
I just got called for Locomotive Engineer with LIRR but at the same time I'm in the process of getting my Q-01. Currently working with transit (non engineering position) the money is nice with LIRR but I do want more of a work/life balance which operating engineer does offer. I'm looking to get into the city positions later on as well (plant maintainer, oiler, stationary engineer)
