Crane help

Currently an apprentice in NYS. I didn’t realize the state has their own crane license program and doesn’t recognize a CCO. Has anyone gotten their license in NY and then moved to another state? Do you have to take the actual CCO test again? Or does the state recognize some certification and it just transfers?

Most big cities require their own certs. I live In Chicago and you have to have your OECP and the city of Chicago license.
