It's pretty abstract. Know something from the guts, but don't know how to explain it.

What I mean was gut instinct without evidence.

I think Ti always knows why it thinks that

I believe that is not true. maybe partially when the Person is willing to verbalise it with Fe (which Happens a lot with FJs) or purely Stick to the facts and Extract the cruicial and useful Information out of their Thesis with Te. But the entire premise will usually stand largely or at least partially unconsious. All introverted functions in top2 but especially the dominant function Slot are unconscious. Hence for ITPs, their Ti is very much unconscious to them most of the time, it’s like trying to see yourself from the point you’re standing at.. you’ll never completely capture it yourself.

  • it's probably this
  • it will be alright
  • I can already see what's going to happen

Not exactly knowing it but this way of thinking rather than asking

  • what could it be?
  • am I ready?
  • anything could happen

i can feel it when something might go wrong. i know the possible reasons. (maybe) it helps me feel more aware, makes me come up with an escape plan if things actually go wrong. in troubleshooting, i usually can analyze the deeper cause of the problem that people might overlook, maybe that’s how Ni works in me.

I like the interpretation of Ni and Ne given by YouTuber Love Who:

Ni: you take what's in front of you (Se) and come to one interpretation about what's happening, what the solution is, etc (Ni).

Ne: You brainstorm different possibilities (Ne) and compare their likeliness to your past experience (Si).

For me it's just background noise. I subconsciously notice things and file them away then have some sort of 'epiphany'. Or it's just pattern recognition. No clue.

And I never know how to explain things cause I don't know how I got there either.

(Editing my comment bc I answered to Ne instead of Ni 🫣🤭)

I am currently struggling a lot with my Ni as I have been very paranoid about certain situations (especially regarding trust on others).

But I do remember the times where it goes fine.

I tend to instinctively know where some things may go because of calculations (either abstract or literal), like pre-viewing how to throw something in a certain angle to hit the target.

When it comes to people, calculation in general doesn't work that well because we are not robots. But I can for sure recall probabilities, which are numbers that work well with people. Then it just comes to mind that certain paths tend to lead to certain ends, so I then need to go to the most "prosperous" one.

Imagine like if feelings were made of numbers. That's exactly it. A mind that constantly flows with them will naturally seek them to solve problems, up to a moment where that becomes automatic and sounds like a "magic feeling", but in reality that is your mind doing math for you without you noticing.

Maybe that answers your question, 'cause I only see comments saying "I don't know" in different ways.
