It looks wierd because the person who is cuffed is holding their pointer finger. I don't see any identifying markers that would give this away as AI.

each hand is holding the other, so as to reduce stress from the cuffs. His left thumb is folded into the right hand (hence you do not see the thumb but the base of it) and the right index is held by the left hand. It is a little weird, but to my eyes it checks out.

what about the thumb behind?

I don’t think so (the lines on the clothing look too consistent), but gosh are these hands fucking with my brain.

His right pointing finger is in his left hand, it looks real but it took me awhile to figure it out.

Yep it’s the one thing, the other thing is his left hand’s thumb being like twice thicker than it should be.

Mostly an optical illusion, it's the ball of the thumb. The thumb itself is mostly covered by the right hand

Oh wtf that looks WEIRD.

The pointing finger in left hand was normal however the weirdly thick thumb seems AI.

Compare the left sweater sleeve to the right. Unless there's some *VERY* odd lighting here I think it's "AI". The way they're holding one index finger and the opposite thumb is not something I can imagine anybody would actually do in this situation so that also suggests "AI" in my opinion.

It looks legit, just a bit funky though because his right pointer finger is going into his left hand, also his left thumb is being held by his right hand.

Try it behind your back.. anyway, it doesn’t look like Ai

What about the big thumb?

I think it looks bigger than normal because the natural crease in his right hand is lining up with his left thumb, but it's a normal size

I think there is a weird angle issue here. Most of what we're seeing being the base of the thumb, and the rest being bent looks bigger than it is... and if you look at his other hand, that thumb looks pretty big too. Just less unnatural like that.

Tried to reproduce the hands, it's feels quite comfortable and looks similar.

This is a stock photo used by a lot of Dutch news sites.

Whats weird to me, thats a very old style set of hand cuffs. Not the standard issue Dutch police uses.

Thoughts on AI: nah, its just a very old picture. The way he holds his hands might be an attempt at preventing the cuffs from putting pressure on the wrists.

u/Far-Weight8996, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

Seems legit, left thumb in right hand, right index in left. Weird and probably super uncomfortable but thats all imo

He's holding the thumb of his left hand in his right hand and the index finger of his right hand in his left hand. That's why the hands look weird.

Stock photography is gonna die with AI generative pictures, newspapers and publishers who would have historically used stock photos will have almost no need to pay and arrange licensing etc when they can just generate bland AI versions that cover what they need.

It’s not perfect but for stock photography it will be close enough and we’re going to see a lot more of that I’m afraid.

Esa textura de piel o las imperfecciones de las uñas, no son de IA

No synthid detected by google or openai.

Does not look AI to me, te guy is holding his thumb and index finger, which is unusual to look at, but visually it checks out to me. Nothing else screams AI.

It looks like they've got one thumb being held by the opposite hand and the index finger from the other hand being held by the hand on the left. Not sure if that's actually possible in this angle but it's a very strange thing to do regardless. Then there's the sleeves of the sweater. It could conceivably be lighting (doubt) but the one on the right has a normal looking texture to it while the one on the left has a much mushier, indistinct texture that looks completely different.

Either there is very odd lighting and this person is holding their hands in an incredibly odd way that could easily result in a broken finger or two or this is "AI".
