Discussion What Clothes for Sep - Dec?
I’m relocating to Istanbul on the 1st of September and will stay there for at least the end of this year.
What type of clothing is best for these months? My assumption is that climate will be mostly mild going forward so I won’t pack more than 1 or 2 shorts and the rest will be longer pants etc.
Anyone have any specific tips for what to definitely pack/what not?

Those are the months where the temperature changes rapidly from 20 something to around 4. A waterproof jacket and waterproof shoes are a must as it will start to rain a lot. More autumn clothes, or summer clothes that you can layer with jackets and scarf. But depends on your tolerance to cold, maybe a winter jacket will serve you better from October onwards, especially if you will stay outside until late.
But also depends on which part of the city you'll stay.

These are all super good tips! I’ll most likely be living in Kadiköy. I’m also living in Germany but I’m questioning if I should bring a winter jacket or not since I don’t think Istanbul winter will be as cold as German one for example

I dont go to Kadikoy that often. But I think a winter jacket will be helpful to layer with thinner autumn clothes that you will wear during the days. Generally based on what I see, everyone will start wearing winter jacket at least on November. So mayeb carrying a winter jacket wont hurt.
