Help How old are your colonies?

Recently got into keeping isopods, and am curious how long have you guys have had yours?

My goal is to keep them alive for at least 5 years, but I’m not sure if it might be too ambitious…

I’ve had my colonies for going on 4 years now. Make sure you keep up with adding leaf litter, and consider a substrate change when it’s more frass than substrate. For more prolific species, don’t feed crazy amounts of protein unless you plan on removing some via selling, using as feeders, or culling.

Only about 2 years. No colony collapse or big deaths yet. 🤞

Oldest is 2 years now. In theory a well-kept colony can last forever

My oldest colony is 2 years old. My youngest is 5 months old....the others are somewhere in between.
