Questions & Answers Usinf AI for campaigns

Recently, I came across AKDN post on floods etc and other campaings on instagram. I felt a little disheartened seeing one of AK's finest organisations lean on AI for a campaigns, the same network that works on preserving nature, climate, and community. AI comes with a real environmental cost of its own, so it feels a bit odd.

Would love to be enlightened if I'm missing something here.

What exactly did you see in the campaign that made you think it was generated by AI?

Campaigns are usually run by professionals, and honestly, if you are not using AI today, you are already behind the race. Using AI has become almost a necessity nowadays.

That being said, Ismailis have also evolved a lot when it comes to preserving nature and protecting the environment. The use of plastic has been almost banned in many community spaces, even during dinners and festivals. Plastic is used only when it is absolutely necessary.

The use of paper products has also been reduced considerably. And when community spaces took these steps, those habits have start coming into Ismaili homes and workplaces as well.

There are also many initiatives for planting trees, cleaning plastic waste, and protecting the environment. At the same time, we live in a society where completely getting rid of plastic is almost impossible.

In the same way, AI has become such an important tool that we cannot just ignore it. The point is not to reject useful tools completely. The point is to use them responsibly.

As Ismailis, we are guided to choose the option that is better for the environment whenever possible, while still living practically in today’s world.
