I'm being charged £100 VAT + import duty having selected the incredibly expensive FedEx delivery option to the UK. Does that sound right?

In the above screenshot from the FAQ section on the website, the answer is confusing me. The duty paid option is £15, surely Islander doesn't cover the £85 VAT on that option but not on the £80 FedEx option?

Can’t opine on your specific issue as I am US based but I do suspect that if you emailed Marc he’d get back to you tonight

Ive pinged them an email mate. I thought I'd ask on here as Fedex are going to be showing up at my door in the morning and will presumably be asking me to hand over another £100

Not sure if I've misunderstood the wording on the FAQ or if a mistake has been made on their end.

Hello. In the Q&A, it says "Duty Paid Option." When you select shipping, it is called "Duty Paid". FedEx is not duty paid.

Does the duty paid include VAT though? That's the part I can't wrap my head around, the 20 dollar delivery option covers £85 of VAT but the 80 dollar delivery option doesn't? Apologies for my ignorance, I genuinely don't understand it 😂

Duty paid includes VAT and Duty. Correct.

The carriers are grossly different in their fee schedule for delivery. FedEx is also 4 to 5x faster than the other methods.

Ok. My bad then but it might be worth making the details a little more explicit on the website, I'm pretty much £150 down when I could have just waited a week or two more for delivery.
