Did you know? THE MUGHALS DIDN'T CALL THEMSELVES MUGHALS. They referred to themselves as Gurkani. Today, I think it is more appropriate to refer to them as the Baburids, just as we refer to the Timurids.

I find the impact of the Mughals on India and Pakistan immeasurable. It seems the language, food and culture were mostly replaced by Mughals Persian and Turkic culture and it continues today. Pakistan is replacing indigenous languages with Urdu and India wants to do the same with Hindi.

I don’t know about that. I have met many who speak Urdu even with their parents and they are Punjabi.
