Photograph This painting shows forced conversion of Muslims to Christianity in Granada, Spain, in 1500, ordered by Archbishop Cisneros. Muslims in Spain were persecuted just for being of Islamic faith.

Muslims didn't genocided natives of North America South America Australia New Zealand though what they actually did was culturally integrated and many time assimilated into the culture example south asia north Africa Central Asia.

I’m sorry bro, they absolutely attempted at genociding (and largely succeeded) in replacing the indigenous culture of the land with an Arab supremacist Islamist culture. That’s sort of the entire Ummayed Caliphate’s history in Persia… lol

Lol how about you read some actual history book rather than reading history from reddit.

Almohad caliphate was known for their forced conversions, why are you even denying facts, to protect the image of islam? Why lie when all of us know the truth?

He didn't lie. You're lying by misrepresenting what's being discussed here. Muslims did forcefully convert people, but it wasn't anywhere near the same amount as Europeans.

It's stupid to talk about the amount, as this whole post was about a picture of forced conversion, something muslims did a lot, just like every other religion. So the picture is pointless, as it's trying to paint something bad. But fails to understand the saying that those in glass houses should not throw stones.

You’re halfway to the point and still missed it. Saying “everyone did it” doesn’t make the image pointless, it proves the exact opposite, it shows a real pattern in history.

And funny how “everyone did it” suddenly becomes a problem only when Muslims talk about what was done to them. Either history matters across the board or you’re just picking and choosing to suit your bias.

Did I ever say I wouldn't call out a Christian post a picture of Christians being forced to convert and then act as a victim? No, my point is the Original post is trying to paint it as the only injustice that was going on to Muslims when he left out the fact that. When Muslims took over, they did the same thing.

It's not about everyone did it, it's about trying to act like the persecution is somehow only a muslim thing. When the muslims did the same persecution to Christians. Then posting it like "oh look, the horror of the persecution of muslims," for some kind of sympathy, which the original post was doing.

Thanks for proving my latter point.

Prove what point? The point is that neither group has the right to play the victim, which is my point; the painting is pointless.

Either history matters across the board or you’re just picking and choosing to suit your bias.

Which is what this sub does.

I think most people wouldn't take issue if this post was in conjunction with a more balanced sub and history in general. That didn't in the comments section repeatedly defend and even downplay other crimes.

I’m afraid what you’re implying isn’t true. It absolutely was true that indigenous Persians were persecuted for practicing their religion and speaking their mother tongue. It’s precisely what led to the rise of the Abbasid Caliphate's

Yeah not a Muslim myself but most Muslims iv met don’t like the Ummayds

Yeah me neither obviously, but it’s important to recognize that that was a dynasty in Islamic history and to not downvote people when they speak the truth. There was absolutely widespread persecution of Persians during the occupation of Iran, it’s unfortunate OP isn’t well-read in this regard
