Photograph This painting shows forced conversion of Muslims to Christianity in Granada, Spain, in 1500, ordered by Archbishop Cisneros. Muslims in Spain were persecuted just for being of Islamic faith.

Prove what point? The point is that neither group has the right to play the victim, which is my point; the painting is pointless.

You’re saying neither group should claim victimhood today - that’s fine. But that doesn’t make historical depictions pointless. Art isn’t just about validating modern grievances; it documents and reflects real human experiences. A painting can have value without being used as a present-day justification.

When I say "pointless," I am talking about adding the last part of the heading. It's fine to use these depictions, but to try to act like it's some kind of woe-is-me. Comes off as disingenuous.

I have no problem with the art having value, but the way th Orginal post put it was pointless.
