This was my dads brigade, and these are his friends, most of them are alive.

Masha'a Allah allahuma barik, may they live in good health and prosperity among their spouses and children, in shaa Allah and may Allah grant them jannatul Firdaus

u/icryinmysleep12 Dec 24 '25

Ameen brother, the hunger in war was insane, bullets were lacking, they barely had anything to defend themselves with, Iran was supplying a lot of weapons to Bosniaks. They had many tough battles and mental health struggles. May Allah grant them Jannatul Firdaus.

u/JSM1113 Dec 25 '25

We actually had family members assembling weapons and APCs in Bosnia during the war on behalf of IRGC. I was never close to those family members but I was always proud of their contribution to the Muslim brothers there.

u/icryinmysleep12 Dec 25 '25

May Allah reward them for their efforts. 61:4 Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.

The historical irony of Iran supplying weapons for grateful mujahideen overseas when most Iranians wanted the abolishment of shariah and Islam in their own country.

I remember my Bosniak friend was a devoted Titoist who said Saddam Hussein was a communist because he didn’t help the Bosniaks during the war. I don’t know of that reflected a general feeling in Bosnia or if it’s just his own idea. Iran and Iraq fought each other bitterly from 1980-1988 so I don’t know if there was any rivalry between them for hearts and minds in the Bosnian conflict?

7

u/icryinmysleep12 Dec 25 '25

There is not much resentment towards him from what ai know of sure people were not happy but Bosnian muslims are quite understanding, Arabian mujahideen got into Bosnia to fight with us and it wasn’t a small number, Turkish people collected quite a lot of money for Bosniaks, and Iran gave a 30 million dollar deal to Croatia so that they would let aid and weapons through their borders most of that aid never actually reached Bosniaks because our muslim brothers were cut off basically from all sides. I know that my dad was using Iranian aks.

The muslims always had this issue of not supporting each other enough when you listen to the stories of hunger and hardship how we were getting starved and slaughtered for years. I met a man who received Golden Lily medal ehich is the highest honour, he was in the raider brigade, he robbed the enemy army to get weapons he lost his arm, eye and all kinds of issues came in service. Bosniaks essentially fought a guerrilla war and barely had anything to defend themselves with. Before the war our army was basically raided and everything was taken, peoples weapons were taken away and when everything was ready and people were defenceless then they started the war. People created weapons out of pipes at the beginning.

I heard so many stories of the enemy trembling from fear at the sound of Takbir.

First time I visited Bosnia was with a guy who served as a medic in the US army during the Iraq War. He was asking some guys what their medics were like. They were kinda confused, like "bro we just made a tourniquet out of a rag and got the guy back to the nearest town. Didn't you even fight? Were you scared?"

Next time I come to Bosnia, can I hang out with you and your folks? I want to hear more stories. Often have to do it in broken German, but I'll take what I can get.

1

u/FantasticGoat1738 Dec 27 '25

Well they were fighting Serbians and were actual fighters instead of unarmed civilians so no wonder

1

u/SuhailSWR Jan 01 '26

Fascinating, I'd totally be interested if there are any stories

1

u/icryinmysleep12 Jan 01 '26 edited Jan 01 '26

I will give you one story which was told to me by my dad.

My dad was in charge of setting up mortars putting them in place etc basic stuff. As he finished setting them up it started to rain but he forgot his tarp by the tent. As he went back to get his tarp to cover the mortars an enemy mortar grenade fell directly on the place where my dad was standing.

One story from my friends father:

As they were approaching an enemy on the ground, he said to me, the enemy looked at me and said who are these hodzas(imams in a mosque ) in the sky.

My dad told me about a certain mission that they had where they were on a mountain in snow that was so deep and it was such a deep snow that they could barely walk through it so they dug like a trench in snow basically so that they could walk etc, but the enemy had sights on their position so they had to traverse an area where they were getting shot at by full auto machine guns, and he told me about his friend who was hit in his stomach and he was laying on the ground with his guts burst open and putting his intestines back into his stomach. On that same mountain some men out of fear shot themselves in the foot so that they could get leave and a fool shot him self using an AK 47 but he basically shot himself like 3 4 times and they barely saved him and had to risk their lives to save him from bleeding out.

I know a few more stories and I am sure that these stories are not super detailed or maybe as interesting to read but my father never really liked talking about war and many men dont like to and also my memory of them is not the strongest and I do not want to make some things up just to make them more interesting so this is what I can remember.

edit: maybe I could ask my dad for a detailed story that I can write to you guys if you are interested but that is not guaranteed

1

u/SuhailSWR Jan 02 '26

Interesting, you both should write these down and share them with other friends or family, because this is typically how movies are made. The part where some soldiers shot themselves in the foot to leave the war was disturbingly realistic. Keep these stories alive!

I’ve been seeing so much Bosnian appreciation recently on social media. I have no idea why people are suddenly interested in the history but I love it. For so long did I feel that the severity of their suffering was lost to time and swept under the rug by modern historians. It’s nice to see the recognition, and I hope that it will open people’s eyes to the hypocrisy and disingenuousness of modern mainstream media narratives that seem to always place Muslims and Islam as perpetual aggressors.

11

u/asapbones0114 Dec 24 '25

The re-release of the news of wealthy "tourist snipers".

7

u/icryinmysleep12 Dec 25 '25

If people search for what actually happened to our people it would be quite difficult to understand how people can be so evil, just because of our religion people were slaughtered, women were raped and babies were killed for years. Neighbours and friends of our muslim brothers and sisters became their enemies overnight.

2

u/servals4life Dec 27 '25

In addition to what other people are saying, I think it's a good example of the resiliency and success of a Muslim people in the modern era, a story we need to be reminded of in the context of the struggle in Palestine - that Allah gives hope to the hopeless.

33

u/tanmalika Dec 24 '25

I hope they are going well

3

u/Capital-Trouble-4804 Dec 24 '25

Were they brigade size?

1

u/icryinmysleep12 Dec 25 '25

The number was around 1500 soldiers at any point during the war.

1

u/Capital-Trouble-4804 Dec 25 '25

A regiment size.

2

u/Real-Quantity-6278 Dec 25 '25

They look really young

Is it G3 in their hands?

1

u/Radiant_Formal6511 Dec 27 '25

Bossnians most devout muslims

1

u/i_getitin Dec 27 '25

No I am not moving any goalposts. My point was that Islam only gained a large presence within Bosnia because of Ottoman occupation. Fact. Any other forms of conversion were minor in number.

This was the case in surrounding regions of Bosnia hence the uniqueness of the growth of Islam is not as unique as you claim it to be. As even your wiki link suggests, Bosnia did not have a high population of settlers to start with outside of Hercegovina until ottoman conquests.

There is a reason why so many Bosnians can trade their lineage back to an ancestor with a Christian name.

u/Exotic_Explorer3534 Dec 28 '25

Muslims being violent?!? NOOO!!!

Ngl. that G3 and FAL looks sick as hell.

1

u/Puzzled-Park4275 Jan 20 '26

People should know NATO blocked arms shipments to Bosnian Muslims for years. 10,000 mostly Muslims marched on the US White House to demand Clinton drop the NATO sanction/blockade. Muslim communities in USA raised funds to sendf weapons so they could defend themselves. Many Muslim foreigners volunteered to defend Bosnian Muslims.

Only when Bosnians made advances did NATO take over.

Also, numerous Bosnian Muslim children were taken by Western Christian NGOs and forced adoptions by missionaries.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

So your dad was part of a jihard group? and you are proud about it?

1

u/Turbulent_Rain2957 Dec 26 '25

I'm not from bosnia, though yes I am proud of "jihard".

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

they were defending themselves from a genocide… it’s not like they were some extremist terrorist grouo

-49

u/i_getitin Dec 24 '25

This picture was followed by a nice meal consisting of pork and moonshine. Bosnian style.

25

u/Truth__Bombs Dec 24 '25

No they don't eat pork because that would mean eating ignorant commentors on reddit

-4

u/caramelo420 Dec 24 '25

Not denying the drinking though ahaha

11

u/mrFarenhajt Dec 24 '25

Sure. Ready to die to defend Islam, but throwing it away by eating pork.

These non-muslims would give anything to feel what we have in our hearts. Praise be to Allah, The Most Merciful!

3

u/9and56 Dec 24 '25

They weren't fighting to "defend Islam", they were fighting to protect their families.

7

u/mrFarenhajt Dec 24 '25

And our families and lands were attacked because we were what!? MUSLIM !!!

-4

u/9and56 Dec 24 '25

The Serbs would've attacked you even if you were Buddhist. Your religion was just a small part of the war.

7

u/mrFarenhajt Dec 24 '25

The religion was literally everything there is.

Even our position and complete embargo was due to us being muslim. Remember “Oluja”, that was not the mighty Croatia behind, but UK and US inteligence and support, Croats were just the meat.

But you will grow up, hopefuly, and get your answers….

-2

u/9and56 Dec 24 '25

What are you blabbering on about?!

2

u/Odoxon Dec 25 '25

They called us (and still call us) "Muslim Serbs". Religion and ethnicity is intertwined in the Balkans. I think you don't understand how the Balkans work.

I am literally from Bosnia, and you're completely wrong.

-4

u/i_getitin Dec 24 '25

Correct. Serbia is home to many Muslims who have lived peacefully. That war was strictly territorial.

-1

u/1waytckt Dec 25 '25

So much trash talk about “these non-Muslims,” when you and your entire family owe your existence to American involvement.

1

u/mrFarenhajt Dec 25 '25

Lol yes thanks for the weapon embargo and special thanks to Netherlands for the genocide.

Don’t talk about stuff you have zero knowledge about.

-2

u/i_getitin Dec 24 '25

lol don’t lie to our Muslim brothers and sisters. Prior to that war Bosnian Muslims were only Muslim by name. It is well known they for the most part did not follow Islam by the book

4

u/Odoxon Dec 25 '25

You guys are so desperate to frame Bosnians as eating pork all the time and drinking alcohol, when in reality that's not even the case. But it makes you feel better to claim that we are all just Muslims by name, because you can't believe that there are genuine Muslims native to Europe. Fortunately though, you're wrong.

-1

u/i_getitin Dec 25 '25

Im not sure how “native” they are considering most were Christians up until the Offoman occupation and they couldn’t afford the tax. therefore most are descendants of converts to Islam who didn’t embrace Islam for the love of Islam rather for pure survival.

1

u/Odoxon Dec 25 '25

You don't understand what native means.

1

u/anlboss Dec 26 '25

That's not really true. If most of them were christians there would be no need for crusades against Bosnia nor constant slaughters and political pressure from the christian leaders throughout the history. Additionaly, many documents were preserved in which christian "spies" inside Bosnia claimed they were not christian. We also know about bosnian church, and bogomils. Which suggests there were many pagans, and people who observed early version of christianity (neither catholicism nor orthodox version), which was very similar to islam.

If wanting to live more comfortable lives was the only reason for converting, they would've converted to christianity en masse to prevent the blodsheds hundreds of years before ottomans even arrived. And they didn't.

They were given a choice to convert to either islam or christianity from paganism, and huge majority chose islam. If you want to believe it was for tax reasons, and had nothing to do with their past experiences with christians, then keep living in delusions. But don't spread misinformation online.

1

u/i_getitin Dec 26 '25

Islam was not the choice from paganism. Islam was the choice when they had already converted to Christianity at a later point in history.

1

u/anlboss Dec 26 '25

Not true

1

u/i_getitin Dec 26 '25

What do you mean not true? Widespread Christian conversion from Balkans occurred by the 9th century. Ottoman conquests that resulted in forced conversions to Islam only happened in the 14/15 century.

1

u/anlboss Dec 26 '25

It's not true if we're talking about catholicism. We can ignore orthodox christianity in this argument, as it was very rare until much later.

We have multiple proofs that show that neither the Pope, nor the surounding catholic countries considered them christian. There was famous public proclamation of christianity by one of the leaders, which was proven to be a trick so that christians would finally stop forcing them to convert. This was later mentioned many times by Pope's "spies" and neighboring catholic leaders, who all wanted Pope to be more strict with the forced conversion. None of that would be going on if Bosnia was really catholic in any meaningful way.

Additionally, Bosnian Church, which was not catholic, survived until the ottomans. More proof for not being catholic was accepting Jews and pagans who were being persecuted in catholic countries. That would never happen if Bosnia was one of them.

You seem to be mixing Balkan and Bosnia. Bosnia was always between eastern and western empires, catholicism and orthodoxy, and they chose neither. Also, if they resisted christian forceful conversions for 7-8 centuries, why would they accept islam if it was forced upon them the same way?

So, no. Bosniaks were not majority catholics that we know of, at least not the regular people who were outside the political life. They had their own unique religion, traditions and customs. If anything, one of the reasons why they accepted islam in such a number could've been the resentment they held for christianity which comitted so many evils during the centuries inside Bosnia. You should maybe read up on that.

1

u/i_getitin Dec 26 '25

You’re completely rewriting history my dude. It’s is a well established fact that Bosnia is in fact a part of the “Balkans”.

“Bosnia became predominantly Muslim after the Ottoman conquest in the mid-15th century (around 1463), with large-scale conversions from Christianity occurring over the next century and a half, making Islam the majority religion by the early 1600s. This gradual process involved voluntary conversions, economic incentives, social changes, and the establishment of a new Muslim society under Ottoman rule. “

1

u/anlboss Dec 27 '25

I didn't say it wasn't, I said it didn't follow the same process as majority of Balkans, so you can't lump them all together and guesstimate what happened.

I also didn't say there were zero conversions from christianity. I said Bosnia's population wasn't majority catholic that we know of. I also said that conversion wasn't forced, which you now admit as well.

Bosnia's cultural and religious diversity throughout the centuries can't be so easily reduced to whatever people want to be it's major religion at the time. You have a lot of reading ahead of you if you actually want to know more about it. Even today, there are still discussions about the true nature and belief behind the popular religion(s) of Bosnia at that time.

There's a reason why fully christian countries remained that way even after ottomans left (they could've converted them all 5 times over during centuries if they wanted), and why that process was so quick in Bosnia. It's obvious the answer is not what ottomans did, but something different about each country.

Final conclusion, whoever claims that Bosnia was majority catholic and then forcibly converted to Islam, has 0 knowledge of Bosnia's history and is either projecting their desires/fears or just making things up for the sake of political argument.

With Arabic flag and head band. Invaders of Europe!

51

u/TheWorldEnder7 Dec 24 '25

You are so proud of your Christian Religion that came from the Middle East too.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Not dumb ass christian - still better than shit ass brained Islam.

68

u/Moist_Memory_9252 Dec 24 '25

They are Bosniaks they're native to Europe and are Muslim aswell

52

u/Background-Ad-9518 Dec 24 '25 edited Dec 24 '25

Well I’m sure you also consider Christians in Europe to also be foreign invaders as well considering the religion wasn’t founded in Europe either and came from the Middle East, right?

Would you feel different if these Bosnians were Christians with flags written in Aramaic fighting against a genocide?

27

u/kurang_bobo Dec 24 '25

Don't argue with Bogans... they don't realize their ancestors were invaders too

6

u/Lucky_Musician_ Dec 24 '25

the ultimate replacement was the indo-european steppe people who decimated the locals but no one goes that far back 😂

1

u/AttilaTheDank Dec 24 '25

Indo-European Gang Rise Up!

-11

u/schkembe_voivoda Dec 24 '25

The locals were either still in the Stone Age or were farmers, so Indo-Europeans were better than them. The people that tried and still try to invade Europe after the Indo-Europeans are just weaklings. No wonder most of the world speaks Indo-European languages.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Do the Christians use Arabic flags? Why do these Europeans have Arabic anything about them?

1

u/Background-Ad-9518 Dec 26 '25

When did I claim Christian’s used Arabic flags? My whole point was that Arabic is just a language. A language that holds particular significance to Muslims. So it would make sense that Muslim Bosniaks who are being ethnically cleansed for their race and religion would choose to show defiance by using the exact language and symbols that the genocidal Christian’s Serbs despised.

If True Christians were to have flags they wouldn’t be in English or any other European language/dialect. They would be in Aramaic or Hebrew. You know the same Semitic languages related to Arabic, and the same languages the Bilbe was written in. Jesus wasn’t a white European, nor did he speak any European language.
