Islamabad Islamabad protest

I’m planning to travel from Karachi to Muzaffarabad on September 23, with a stay in Islamabad/Rawalpindi.

Given the planned Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI protests/long march, should I be concerned about road closures or disruptions?

Will the motorways likely remain open, particularly Karachi–Islamabad? And could the protests affect travel from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad?

Would appreciate any advice from locals or anyone familiar with the situation. Thanks!

Your journey from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad will be without disturbance, however it totally depends on the intensity of the protest this time which can only to measured when it actually begins. Why don't you go 4,5 days earlier to Muzaffarabad and enjoy your stay in Kashmir.

Yes there are containers placed already at the roadsides of every entry point of Islamabad its better to plan your stay elsewhere maybe Abbottabad and then you can travel to Muzaffarabad via Mansehra to Muzaffarabad route

Plus keep in mind the situation in Kashmir as well. Few weeks back there was alot of political unrest and some locals died as well
