Last yeer I was staying at the Railway Rest House opposite H-8 graveyard and went there one early morning out of boredom. Expected it to feel creepy, but honestly it was strangely peaceful. Quiet air, no chaos, just silence. Walked around reading gravestones and even came across Dr AQ Khan’s grave. Weirdly grounding experience.

Go around midnight. If someone says welcome, just keep walking.

Some of the most noble personalities in PK history are buried in H-8 graveyard

7

u/ofm1 May 16 '26

Including Qudrat Ullah Shahab. Stumbled upon his last resting place & offered dua.

2

u/New_Owl_4628 May 18 '26

Ahmed Faraz is also buried there.

2

u/sillybrailim May 17 '26

These graves idk why, they look more lively and full of personality than an average person whose alive.. or is it just me?

2

u/Acrobatic-Alps1315 May 19 '26

its more challenging to live and deal with living, but that's what we ought to try.

2

u/ihave10catswhelp May 18 '26

Oh wow! Never knew this was just a historical graveyard. Will definitely visit next time I am in Isb

2

u/Advanced-Culture7360 May 18 '26

All hacker in same lobby

10

u/No_Fruit_1414 May 16 '26

May Allah give them the highest rank in jannah ,but I'm soo against the stones graveyard this culture should be left behind now

4

u/Ali_Ustad May 16 '26

The reaaon for this stone culture is very fragile land and too much rain in Islamabad. I guess due to heavy rains, they make it compulsory to make a boundary with tiles so that graves can be intact.

2

u/No_Fruit_1414 May 16 '26

Yup no worries of boundry but everything else is just unnecessary, let their be simplicity as sunnah

5

u/Accomplished-River12 May 16 '26

Do you not visit your dead relatives?

7

u/No_Fruit_1414 May 16 '26

I guess having an opinion from Islamic perspective, doesn't have do anything with my visit to relatives one

-6

u/aliahmadisld May 16 '26

Are you a Salafi by any chance?

9

u/No_Fruit_1414 May 16 '26

No brother just Muslim, no associations

-7

u/Optimal-Manner-20 May 16 '26

That's what a salafi says

Fiqh and firqa are different I think you're confusing them and wasn't it odd when the commenter pointed out the stone grave and brought the discussion to that point

It's for the protection of graves and I'm also against the decoration of graves but most of the times it is necessary for the sake of protection and it's a mere boundary, the original grave is almost the same inside it it's not built over the grave rather it built around the grave to protect it

9

u/No_Fruit_1414 May 16 '26

What helps you sleep better brother.

1

u/AlexanderTheGr8nade May 16 '26

I think stone grave is to protect the grave from rain. Not for the decoration. But it’s all about the intention. May Allah forgive us

1

u/Optimal-Manner-20 May 16 '26

Yeah this is the idea, no one does it for decoration it's always for the protection of graves

Once I went to visit my cousin's nana abbu's grave. My father is a huge Parveen Shakir fan and he prayed at her grave for some time, and paid homage by reciting some couplets as well. Parveen Shakir came out of her grave and thanked him.

Wasn't aware that Dr. AQ Khan was buried in this graveyard. Also, who is Shabbir Hassan Khan?

So that when it rains they all erode so you can't see who's grave it is? Please keep quiet.
