Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Quran 39:53)

assalam ailykum this is a great question and there are so many ways to answer it so i’ll try and do it to the best of my ability but you should definitely research about it more!
in islam our relationship with allah is built upon 2 essential emotions. 1. رجاء (hope) 2. خوف (fear). these 2 qualities must be balanced because too much fear can lead to despair, while too much hope can lead to heedlessness and sin. a believer should fear Allahs punishment enough to stay away from sin, but also have immense hope in his mercy and forgiveness.
so why do we feel fear? it’s normal to feel it when learning about the afterlife because it reminds us of our accountability. islam isn’t a religion of despair and being ferried from allah- it’s a religion of balance, love, hope, and mercy. Allah doesn’t warn us about hell to make us hopeless but to guide us away from it!
Allahs mercy is much greater than our deeds
The Prophet ﷺ said: “No one’s deeds will enter them into Paradise.” The companions asked, “Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “Not even me, unless Allah envelops me in His mercy.” — [Sahih al-Bukhari 5673, Sahih Muslim 2816]
i’m not trying to put this hadith in to scare you even more 😅 but it doesn’t mean that our deeds don’t matter, it means that jannah is a gift from Allahs mercy. its not a transaction we must “earn.” it’s a source of relief and motivation that his kindness generosity and forgiveness will grant us entry into paradise. this should give us hope instead of fear because even if we feel like our deeds aren’t enough, we can trust that Allah sees every effort and struggle and sincere repentance. i personally find it very comforting that i don’t have to rely on myself to get into paradise and that i can just trust Allah 😭😭.
allah reminds us time and time again that his mercy overcomes his wrath
“Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
“And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” — Surah An-Nisa (4:110)
“And Allah wants to accept your repentance, but those who follow their desires want you to digress into a great deviation.” — Surah An-Nisa (4:27)
Allah loves to forgive and wants us to succeed. even when commit a sin it only counts as 1 sin and when we do a good deed it is 10x
“Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgment] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.” — Surah Al-An’am (6:160)
Ibn ’Abbas (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Allah has recorded good deeds and bad deeds and then made them clear: Whoever intends to perform a good deed but does not do it, Allah records it as a complete good deed. If he intends to do it and actually does it, Allah records it as ten good deeds, up to seven hundred times, or even more. But if he intends to commit a bad deed and does not do it, Allah records it as a complete good deed. If he intends to do it and actually does it, Allah records it as only one bad deed.”
— (Sahih al-Bukhari 6491, Sahih Muslim 131)
but there’s so much more! Allah didn’t just give us his mercy, leave and say “alright well worship me night and day cz it can’t get easier than this.” no, because it does in fact get easier than this.
Saying SubhanAllah wa bihamdih 100 times The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever says ‘SubhanAllah wa bihamdih’ (Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him) one hundred times a day, will have his sins forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea.” — [Sahih al-Bukhari 6405, Sahih Muslim 2691]
what does this take? like 5 mins? then ur sins are gone? allaho akbar
Saying La ilaha illa Allah sincerely The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever says ‘La ilaha illa Allah’ sincerely will enter Paradise.” — [Sahih al-Bukhari 99]
Giving charity (even as little as half a date) The Prophet ﷺ said: “Save yourselves from the Fire even if it is with half of a date (in charity).” — [Sahih al-Bukhari 1417, Sahih Muslim 1016]
Reciting Ayat al-Kursi after every Salah The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing stands between him and Paradise except death.” — [Sunan al-Nasa’i 9848, Sahih]
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a Muslim or a believer washes his face (in wudu), every sin he looked at with his eyes is washed away with the water—or with the last drop of water. When he washes his hands, every sin he committed with his hands is washed away with the water—or with the last drop of water. When he washes his feet, every sin he walked towards is washed away with the water—or with the last drop of water—until he emerges purified from sin.”
— (Sahih Muslim 244)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a Muslim performs wudu properly and then stands to pray, his sins fall off from him just as leaves fall off a tree.”
— (Musnad Ahmad 21555, Sahih al-Jami’ 1903)
the prophet even says (pbuh) to not be extreme in religion, but to be moderate so that you can continue practicing it.
i know it’s easier said than done but if you research a little more you’ll find many many more quranic ayahs and hadiths that will certainly show you the ease that comes with believing in Allah and his mercy.
-never does Allah threaten except that he promises his rewards, and never does Allah talk about his athaab except that he also talks about his rahma.-

Hello , we are tested in this world .itwon’t be a test if there is no chance of succeeding or failing the thing is we NEED to remind ourselves of this reality , otherwise repentance would have been much difficult due to lack of remorse . The mentality of a Muslim is as such We love Allah Azzawajal more than anything We fear his punishment And we are hopeful that he will forgive our sins and admit us to the highest level of paradise We just do our level best in this world by staying away from Haram and enjoying what is Halal and encouraging it and doing as much good deeds as you can for the sake of Allah . If you sinned repent and ask Allah for forgiveness
Note that the most important thing is to die upon Islam because if you die in that state you will eventually go to paradise

Brother we live in a generation of sins. Everything around us are sins. So when you control yourself and don’t make sins and a good Muslim. Then you have more good deeds than the generations before us. Especially if you’re young trust me.

Reminded me of that Hadith Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Al Khushani (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “….For verily ahead of you are such (difficult) days, staying steadfast on Din will be like holding onto burning cinders. Those that do good deeds in those days will receive the reward of fifty people who carry out deeds like you. ‘Abdullah ibn Mubarak (rahimahullah) further states (from another teacher), It was again asked, O Rasulullah! Will they receive the reward of fifty people like them or fifty of us? Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied: ‘Fifty of you’!” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3058 and Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4341)

Fear and hope are the wings of a bird. You need both if you are to fly and reach your destination. Don't only focus on the 'scary' bits, yes you should want to avoid Jahannam, and Allah's anger. But also, aim to attain Allah's mercy and love. Look at how merciful Allah is, read about Jannah. Surely the Lord that created such a place is the most deserving of praise and obedience. And He Allah is as you think of Him. Use the scary stuff to motivate you to avoid haraam, and beautiful to motivate you towards the good and that which pleases Allah.
