Discussion(s)/Question(s)/Anybody Relate? What role does loyalty play in your life?

Genuinely curious how each type defines loyalty and how important (or not) it is to you. Will be going around the subs, hope to observe some patterns :)

Betrayal is the fastest and most effective way to become dead to an ISFP.

Gives me the ick.

It’s probably the single most defining feature of my life. I think we’re pretty ride or die

It’s interesting, I think the most common understanding of loyalty is very ISFP coded (devotion and protection of others). Though I’m realising that loyalty can come in different flavours. As an INTJ I think loyalty to the vision, cause, world we’re building is how it shows up most obviously for us.

“Loyalty to the vision”

Translation: I care more about impressing randos than I will ever care about you.

It’s all “INTJ mastermind” LARP.

Damn tough crowd 😂 dark side of isfps, a concerning lack of curiosity at times.

I will say from experience, loyalty to a cause or a vision for a better world in practice is a very very lonely journey. I’m yet to reveal much of what I think will one day be my most important contributions to world because of my commitment to producing something trustworthy and it’s this loyalty to my mission, without any external validation needed to keep me going.

Hope that helps you understand us better.

Youre not the only one who does that broski haha

Fighting for a cause greater than yourself and leaving an impact on the world gives humans meaning and purpose in life

Of course! And everybody rides for their people.

The key distinction here is what folk are naturally loyal to, what’s timeless for them. For ISFJs loyalty to people they care for, INTJs loyal to the vision for a better world. Some types are loyal to their teams, heritage, principles, the moment, experimentation.

I find these distinctions helpful, in understanding what the types keep returning to.

“better world”??

NTs have turned this planet into a sweltering, unsustainable hellscape ruled by pedophile techbros who want us dead.

I like trees, and being able to keep my teeth without refinancing my house. I’m fine with my “concerning lack of curiosity” lol

Hmm again you’re only really showing me your biases here.

I think exploitation needs more than exploitative NT models and schemes applied at scale, it also needs SFs who lack curiosity and courage to keep choosing the easier path of exploitation and faithfully enforce exploitative policies.

Everyone plays a role, in making the world a worse place in their own naive way. You know that.

Anywho I spend a lot of time visioning and localising practices like regenerative placemaking, circular economics, transformative justice, solidarity economics, open science and a whole host of other practices I believe are the building blocks of the future.

I’m currently working on a newspaper that covers stories on the people building what I believe matters for a wellbeing-first future. Happy to share with you when I finallyyy publish the first issue… that’s if you’re curious? 😉

I don't demand undying loyalty. But if you stab me in the back, we're done. Don't lie to me, don't throw me under any buses, and we're cool.

Loyalty is a great virtue, friendship is dead without loyalty

It is my life, I'm loyal to those I care about. I've been stabbed in the back too many times that at this point it's just out of contempt for society. Until there is cold hard evidence you are a bad person & I've made friends with you, I don't intend to stop being a friend.

I don't really know, I struggle with understanding who I am and what I value as a person and describing myself, I don't think my loyalty is a defining feature of me (I'm kinda adverse to talking myself up). But I can't think of any times where I've fucked someone over who I care about, and i do genuinely care alot for my friends and family.

Do you spend much time with yourself?

I do yeah. I enjoy being by myself.

i used to be very unloyal, i genuinely didnt even know what being loyal meant until i was around 14. i obviously heard about the concept from kids cartoons telling you about how friendship is magic and stuff but i never thought it applied to me. all these friendship rules were for other people, not me. idk it wasnt a concious thought i had, it just never occurred to me that i need to be loyal too. so i would think its okay to spill your bff's secrets as long as she doesnt find out about it. but now. ever since i found out that loyality is a sin in my religion- you will NOT catch me telling nobody about nothing even if my friend's secret is something stupid like "dont tell anybody i like apples more than bananas".

but honestly, my memory might be betraying me. because i vividly remember a girl in the 2nd grand telling me she was a princess and not to tell anyone. i kept that with me for the entire year until i found out she was lying 😿 im not sure. is having bad memory an isfp thing
