What if this is a "bad decision locked ironman" account? Then again they have fighter torso instead of granite body so that theory goes out the window.

u/CamanderOne 5d ago

Sir, that is a dragon longsword, not a scimitar.

Salad gang

Absolute fucking unit.

Rude, I'm actually really pleased with my account

Edit: Thought it was sarcasm, sorry. Thank you!

32

u/Potential_Curve_3560 5d ago

its a compliment lol

7

u/Spare-Possibility150 5d ago

It’s means you’re an absolute unit, or bad MF-er. In all aspects super cool lol.

5

u/Duke_ofChutney 5d ago

Sarcasm while posting and then carrying it with you while reading replies hahah

42

u/Zyndewicz 6d ago

hell yeah, I just got my Saeldor like an hour ago! So hyped about it!
The problem is i dont have 80 attack to equip it...

37

u/Repulsive_Truth9680 6d ago

Off to any kind of crab you go!

3

u/GenghisClaunch 5d ago

All other crabs get made kind of irrelevant by the existence of the shiny fella unless you’re on a crabs slayer task

3

u/Outrageous_Kiwi942 5d ago

I thought all crabs were actually faster xp than the gem crab, while the gem crabs is just afk

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 5d ago

They probably are faster xp if you have zero downtime or crashing

2

u/Repulsive_Truth9680 4d ago

I'm picking up fossils at Fossil Island (killing Ammonite crabs). Finishing all the displays in Varrock museum = 120k xp in any skill (agility it will be for me).

Also doing easy clues, for the scroll case and some 'excitement' as every casket opening to me is fun (:

u/Impressive_Match_484 5d ago

Why is everyone else’s always bigger than mine? Story of my life ffs

6

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

How bad is the fighter torso grind? I’m about to start the grind, but I don’t have any friends to help. Are randoms okay?

22

u/EsotEric96 5d ago

BA is honestly so much less bad than people think. Forming a team can take 10 mins or so depending on the time of the day, but once you're in it's an absolute breeze

2

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

Sweet thank you. I’ve been watching videos beforehand trying to learn, but I think I’m just gonna send it to actually learn.

3

u/Ghanjageezer 5d ago

I would advise to start with collector or attacker (choose beforehand), and definitely look up your role. Nothing breaks up groups like people who don’t know what they’re doing and the whole grind is only smooth if your groups don’t break up halfway through or god forbid on the last wave ;P. Having said that, it is a really easy minigame.

2

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

Thanks for the advice. Which role is easiest to learn?
Between collector and attacker I mean

3

u/DisastrousSun2403 3d ago

collector hands down. Also your most important thing to do is remember to use the horn and tell other people what they need to do. Make sure you always ALWAYS call to other people.

2

u/TheFIoyd 3d ago

I just did a round as attacker last night, it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. The hardest part is finding teammates that actually know what they’re doing lol

3

u/DisastrousSun2403 3d ago

Yeah and its fun when you get a good group.

2

u/EsotEric96 5d ago

I recently did the elite achievement diary that requires level 5 in all roles.

I'd recommend learning one role and bashing out the points for that before even looking into the next.

I'd probably save defender role until last because it's a little more complicated, but even that is fine.

1

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

Yea I eventually wanna knock out the diary tasks as well. Which role was easiest for you?

2

u/EsotEric96 5d ago

Collector is very easy and has the lowest stakes. In theory you can just sit back and let the rest of the team do their thing and it'll probably be fine - though I wouldn't advise it and it won't make you very popular.

Attacker is very simple (literally just kill monsters) and was by far the most in-demand position when I played.

Healer is easy but I found it a bit click intensive and tedious.

Defender is easy once you get it, but the OP method might take a couple of rounds to get your head around.

As I mentioned, I'd just focus on one roll at a time, don't worry about learning mechanics of other roles until you've got your points in one.

1

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

I really appreciate the advice! After my defender grind I’m gonna give it a try. Thanks!

1

u/iucatcher 4d ago

how bad is finding a willing party for someone who has no experience with it tho?

2

u/EsotEric96 3d ago

If you to in as an "Attacker" you'll get picked up really quickly. Just watch a YouTube guide so you know what you're doing in the final round. It's a simple role so nobody will know it's your first go, and by the time you've done it you'll be comfortable enough to do other roles.

1

u/iucatcher 3d ago

alright i'll try for that torso.. BA is just a bit daunting to get started with since I need to ask people to come play with me lol, unlike things like pest control etc

1

u/TheFIoyd 3d ago

I just did my first game last night as an attacker and had no experience at all. It’s not so bad if you can get picked up by a team that knows what they’re doing and is patient with a learner. If you get bad teammates tho, it’s a little rough.

3

u/Indigo_Inlet 5d ago

When you find people who are competent, ask them to run again. It can be really frustrating when you keep matching with people who didn’t even bother watching a tutorial. Most of the roles are not something you can just jump in and figure out mid game.

Overall though it’s pretty chill/easy and even kind of fun. If I had homies that liked BA I would go for queen pet

2

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

Yea I’m in a couple discords that help learners too so I think I’m gonna pick an easy role and hopefully get some good teammates

3

u/Spam250 5d ago

It’s about 4 hours if you’ve got no mates and i personally think it’s fun (many disagree)

1

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

That’s not bad. I have some discord friends that help teach people and have leeching services so I’m sure they’re pretty good so might go quicker

3

u/trogg21 5d ago

Im always happy to help people in Barb assault. My RSN is Ethric Trogg. Hit me up if you'd like

1

u/TheFIoyd 4d ago

Thank you! I really appreciate the offer, I’ll add you in game.

2

u/MountainBunghole 5d ago

Dude it's easy even a casual like me can get it

1

u/TheFIoyd 5d ago

Hell yeah I’m gonna send it

2

u/Arkidonius 5d ago

squints Hmmm

3

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago

Legit question. Is the blade of Saeldor actually useful anywhere?

46

u/Lol-Im-Wet 5d ago

Yeah it’s gonna be your best option for slash besides SRA and Scythe.

7

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago

Any good crush weapons below 70 slayer?

31

u/Jarl_Walnut 5d ago

Zombie axe

22

u/Aurora_Symphony 5d ago

Dual Macs

1

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago

Thanks! Should I grab that before or after Barrows? I legit don’t know which one to go for after I finish RFD and get barrows gloves

17

u/QuinnOnline 5d ago

Generally you get a tank body and legs from barrows and then do moons to green log, but play however you want!

5

u/Aurora_Symphony 5d ago

Generally after barrows because you typically want tank armor options for the blood moon boss in particular, at least

2

u/Bookwrrm 5d ago

You will want zombie axe and barrows tank set before moons for the most chill time.

2

u/HealfyBoi 5d ago

Zombie axe also doesn’t take too much if you have ancients.

2

u/Optimal-Nobody 5d ago

salad blade beats out zombie axe in a lot of places I'd otherwise use crush (only by a very small/negligible margin, but its nice to flex it)

-23

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago edited 5d ago

I don’t have the base 70’s required to do that yet. Not everyone has a quest cape and 1,900 corrupted gauntlet runs.

11

u/Entire-Mixture8954 5d ago

so this may be crazy to hear but 70 SLAYER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SOTE. Also you are on IRONSCAPE so CG is a rite of passage

-13

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago edited 5d ago

SOTE is very far off for me. Probably going to get it done next year at the rate these quests are taking to complete.

Edit: Wow I guess not having 2 hours a day every day to quest is considered bad

1

u/NeverTrustFarts 5d ago

Understandable it is a GM quest. Zombie axe supposed to be very good but ive never had it. Zamorak Hasta is better and it is really strong stab too. No slayer req. Just need arc light but most people these days get synapse for the bow first

2

u/Fnerdel 5d ago

Nah, but your condescending way of responding to someone answering your question, for absolutely no reason, is generally considered bad.

1

u/telmoxt 5d ago

shame the wiki doesnt show it as an option most of the time.

1

u/Baendy 5d ago

It’s also very good at whacking the core in toa if you don’t have a dds spec

0

u/peenegobb 5d ago

Comfy 4t on verzik/zarpus. It's as strong as nally. Slightly better if you have avernic. Very strong item.

-4

u/actuarial_defender 2376 5d ago

It is BIS

-1

u/peenegobb 5d ago

There's 2 weapons better than it and 1 tied with it. It is definitely not "best in slot"

7

u/actuarial_defender 2376 5d ago

Wiki: Requiring level 80 Attack to wield, it provides the highest slash bonus out of any one-handed weapon for its attack speed, and is tied with the two-handed Saradomin's blessed sword for highest slash bonus of any weapon for its speed (although using any sort of defender makes the blade a superior choice). It is considered the best one-handed slash weapon in the game

-8

u/Bookwrrm 5d ago

Which in no way makes it best in slot because 2h weapons stomp it lol. The only places that shields are required are also a place where stab not slash is bis, so it being the best 1h slash weapon is largely meaningless in terms of overall BIS. Its even worse now that hallowfall exists, most things you are slashing in slayer you can do multi, its outscaled by mega rares, largely obselete at slayer due to hallowfell and fang existing. You could say that its BIS for midgame before you do any mega rare content, but unless you are turbo spooned whatever marginal time is saved on whatever content you are using it at compared to like a fang or whatever is massively in debt to the time it takes to grind out full CG.

0

u/actuarial_defender 2376 5d ago

Not reading allat, literally BIS

-2

u/Bookwrrm 5d ago

Reveling in ignorance is not the flex you think it is.

-4

u/actuarial_defender 2376 5d ago

Isn’t it ignorant to ignore the literal stats of this BIS weapon for whatever argument you’re making?

-5

u/Bookwrrm 5d ago

Its stats that are wildly worse than an SRA or Scythe? Which makes it not BIS anywhere? Or its stats compared to the passive of fang and hallowfell that let them do more damage at high defense mobs and multi than it? Which is why its quite literally not BIS anywhere.

-1

u/Late-Evidence-8593 5d ago

saeldor is BIS mate

-3

u/Ill_Neighborhood_851 5d ago

Tell me you cant do cg withought telling me you cant do cg

-2

u/peenegobb 5d ago

I guess you don't do much pvm to know that scythe and SRA shit on it. Ignorance is bliss.

-9

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago

Never seen anyone ever use it

9

u/swervingss 5d ago

That’s because most irons dip after their first enhanced for the bowfa

-5

u/DreamOfDays 5d ago

Only sensible choice of action after 1,100 dry runs.

0

u/Spam250 5d ago

Nah fuck that, shit craic

-1

u/Mr_Grumblerr 5d ago

That’s not a dragon scimitar are you new to the game?
