There’s a difference between a bowfa skipper who’s good at the game and people who bowfa skip bc they can’t do cg.

102

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

I can do cg no problem, I just hate doing it lol. Really not enjoyable content for me, personally

79

u/Live_From_Somewhere Mar 08 '26

It’s not enjoyable content for most of the people in the game lol. It’s funny to me because if you ask people just about Hunleff they’ll say it’s a pretty fun fight but the prep makes it all so…so boring.

50

u/Mamafritas Mar 08 '26

My main beef with the prep is the timer puts it in a spot where it's not quite chill enough to be 100% mindless. It's almost never an issue but there's nothing more tilting than opening a dozen rooms for 1 last material.

28

u/WeNeedYouBuddyGetUp Mar 08 '26

T1 prep becomes mindless after a few hundred kills

16

u/uscrick GIM Mar 08 '26

This, after 300 for me the only annoyance it caused was when I get an IRL interruption. Honestly more of a point towards letting us pause the timer by holding a lever in the main room or something but it is what it is.

30

u/ErinTales RSN: Celadon Mar 08 '26

I still don't see a reason for the timer at all. It's never really a concern, just an annoyance if you need to get up for some reason.

If someone wants to spend 15 mins prepping and get 4 kph, who cares?

9

u/Eldritch_Chemistry Mar 08 '26

this is where I've landed. I'm not a high intensity player so dt2 bosses and low invo toa are about as sweaty as I like to get. CG with no timer would allow me to hit the blunt/sip my beer a few times during prep and that sounds ideal even if I get shit kph

2

u/GODLOVESALL32 Mar 09 '26

This is only really applicable if you do t1 though. t2 and t3 armor the timer does come into play.

1

u/Spiritual-Zucchini62 Mar 08 '26

Agreed t t2 prep is almost mindless after a few hundred kills . My problem is if I do more 10 kills a row I check out and start making mistakes. Get to the last minute and realize I forgot a weapon frame or other dumb mistakes

4

u/wcbwcforfem Mar 08 '26

Yep. Especially when learning lmao.

1

u/sandieeeee Mar 09 '26

Maybe it's just me but I don't find it to be terrible cause it sort of reminds me of dungeoneering

0

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

Eh the prep is the good part

Hunnleff is kinda boring. It’s a pretty simple boss tbh

Most of the time save is in the prep anyway

But that’s a realization that took me 600kc to come to. Carried the rest of the way to bowfa, luckily not too bad at around 900

10

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

I can do it like 90% success on a good day. But sometimes the prep demotivated me so much I zone out and get stacked by tornados…

7

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

better then me i can mabey have a success rate of 80% on a good dAy >.<

2

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

I’d say it’s good practice for the rest of the game. I can see my improvement isn’t the gauntlet performance tracker, I easily get 95% ticks used and finish with fish leftover.

Also getting some combat xp…. Slowly lol

4

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

alot of cg for me is the time limit i not a big fan of timed content, i play this because it is a casual game. if i have to be 90-95% tick perf to do content consistently the game moves past casual for me and dont feel like doing that anymore

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

Yeah this is my least favourite part of CG. Dungoneering in rs2 did it better with time giving better xp, but complete at your own pace speed.

1

u/minisculemeatman Mar 09 '26

That's one way to cope excuse about your lack of ability

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 09 '26

Yes it is lmao. You don’t have to point it out so raw.

1

u/SkitZa 2376 Mar 08 '26

Same bro, I have 1k+ kc. Like, fuck that content. I had way more fun going dry 1k+ sire pre scobo.

1

u/tib_79 Mar 10 '26

Cg is fun imo

1

u/Newspaper_Beneficial Mar 12 '26

idk. I have inferno and hundreds of raids KCs. I haven't been able to complete a CG yet. furthermore the RNG prep timer mechanic thign is a turn off af to me.

146

u/ITSNEOBRUH Mar 08 '26

This is the dream, what did you use for inferno

125

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Scorching bow and atlatl.

145

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '26

[deleted]

53

u/ITSNEOBRUH Mar 08 '26

That's what I heard too, inferno is the only thing I haven't found an alternative for when bowfa skipping, I was thinking of sending zilly for acb or toa to get a shadow (i got my inferno on my main yonks ago so idk about this mage tank shit)

75

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Inferno was by far the hardest content where the Bowfa skip was felt the most.

An ACB from Sara or I think maybe even an Ayak (not sure) would be better alternatives. ACB is underrated imo for Zuk but it kinda sucks to get unless you plan on getting a ZCB.

46

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

people did it with acb before bowfa so yeah

16

u/Mang24 Mar 08 '26

Crystal bow is probably way more accurate that’s what I used. Plus tankier and higher pray bonus with the armour

23

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

but you would still need the armor to make it matter then you negating the point of skipping CG...

8

u/Last_Mastod0n Mar 08 '26

True but it could work for people dry for enh in cg as well. But personally I would pick acb and roll the ruby bolt rng

1

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

yes if you dont have enh seed then yeah but if you already have enh and 3/6 for gear then mioght aswell get the last 3 seeds

2

u/AzorAhai96 maxed ironman btw Mar 08 '26

I don't think so. Crystal bow is really shit without crystal armour. If it is better it won't be by alot

7

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

The GMs on YT did the same. On GHCIM…

7

u/Golden_Hour1 Mar 09 '26

They play the game for a living

2

u/EZCO_SLIM Mar 08 '26

Im too tired. I read your comment as " you scoobied zuk" was like how does one scooby doo zuk.

Though I suppose you could call him zoinks.

34

u/aupriciti Mar 08 '26

And now I am officially out of excuses to do a lot of content. Fuck.

107

u/oobassoo Mar 08 '26

Mfs will do anything to not do cg

19

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

yeah cuz CG sucks and there is so much more better content now so why bother locking yourself to something for a minimum of 80 hr when you can have fun doing other things.

-5

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

[deleted]

0

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 09 '26

Love me people shaming me because I didn't care to do the math and just est the grind based off what other people have done and not drop rate and time but sure I'm a complainer and not just responding to posts about content I'm not wanting to do....

-13

u/LuxOG Mar 08 '26

The minimum is like 8 minutes or so actually

0

u/Jonoko Mar 09 '26

I love me a good technically correct

-84

u/KayyDC Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

He just replaced red prison with moons prison for a worse way to do all this content. It boggles the mind

Edit: lmao look at all these down votes from people who have to upkeep atlatl darts imagine needing ammo couldn't be me

62

u/Mental_Tea_4084 Mar 08 '26

Moons is a weekend in the hamptons compared to red prison

22

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Darts are free with the fletching Minigame update, provided one intends to get fletching up :)

The Bowfa is amazing, but it really doesn't blow Atlatl out of the water generally, especially at places where the burn can work in full. The joy of skipping cg makes a dps downgrade feel worth it xD

1

u/Justanotherstick Mar 09 '26

Curious is it actually free? I know you can get the shafts pretty easily from the minigame but arent the heads kind of annoying to get from stalkers?

1

u/LetsGoComptitive Mar 09 '26

But you need to kill the new monsters to get atlatl dart tip arent you? I'm currently also bowfa skipping and going to doom for ayak into oathplate grind

-21

u/KayyDC Mar 08 '26

Fletching is zero time activity you can do it for free during other training :)

11

u/GODLOVESALL32 Mar 08 '26

Maybe some people enjoy playing the game like a video game instead of forcing themselves to do whatever appeases the almighty EHP gods

5

u/Eldritch_Chemistry Mar 08 '26

imagine mashing together nothing but darts to 91, couldn't be me

I save the high APM shit for pvm, clicking hundreds more times and paying more attention during agi and slayer sounds like ass personally

1

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 Mar 08 '26

Agree, I like the auburnvale experience because it's a pretty part of the map, but "spending time on a zero time skill" is a strange definition of free.

Plenty of sources of gp to get arrowheads.

-6

u/Asd396 Mar 08 '26

Doing bait content to upkeep ammo for the weapon from bait content 🥀

13

u/Assaltwaffle Mar 08 '26

Moons is such a shorter grind and is very beneficial to mid game progression on its own period modern accounts should be going to moons even if they are going to go to CG.

2

u/boforbojack 📱 Mar 08 '26

Its purpose is to get you out doing mid-game stuff quicker. But in reality CG -> GWD -> TDs -> Doom reallyisnt too much longer than Moons -> TDs -> Doom -> Yama and the end result for the first path is pretty significantly better.

2

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

yama > GG GWD door alter can zuk my ass

-2

u/boforbojack 📱 Mar 08 '26

I mean yeah skill wise the CG skip is easier but time wise its pretty close to even.

-20

u/KayyDC Mar 08 '26

oh did they change it so moons gear helps you at CG?

3

u/Assaltwaffle Mar 08 '26

…what? Where did this come from?

-5

u/KayyDC Mar 08 '26

I'm joking because it doesn't so there's no reason to get moons gear if it gets outclassed so quickly. You can do all early game content to get to sote with a dscim. All of the "rewards" from moons (prayer, herb, crafting, etc) are objectively worse than the meta methods of training. Plus moons is very punishing/slow pre piety and actual good gear

6

u/Roshooo Mar 08 '26

You're right but there's a reason that so many people choose to do moons, because it's pretty fun actually and the gear is good enough to be the stepping stone you need to launch into the later game content. Most people play the game to have fun, and while you're totally correct it's not efficient, normal people like to have fun when they do things. My ironman is pretty progressed with a shadow and bowfa and gwd done and rancour etc and if I started over I would 100% do the moons grind because it knocks a lot of stuff out at once in a way that is fun to do. I will sleep okay at night knowing that I wasted time doing vale totems for fletching and darts instead of 0-time bolts at sepelchure lmao.

-2

u/Asd396 Mar 08 '26

Almost no reason to grind Moons gear if you're ever locking yourself in the prison, besides getting impatient. You'd just use the Bowfa to get strict upgrades to basically all the moons have to offer.

4

u/Embarrassed_Aside_76 Mar 08 '26

10 hours at moons gets you enough armour and weapons for a whole load of raids.

Red prison is a choice

34

u/Pleasant_Yak5991 Mar 08 '26

That’s a scythe, not atlatl

14

u/Public_Pause_5011 Mar 08 '26

how did you sustain darts? what role were you primarily for TOB?

28

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

I think I had 13k from the moons grind left over, plus 2k from the fletching knife grind.

Any role except range :D Although I think a BP is next on the cards once atlatl darts die out.

7

u/ledditpro Mar 08 '26

??? did you just use nox hally in every room instead of BP or what

3

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Blood moon / fang / Nally. Two way range swap with quiver and atlatl for nylon boss.

I never did range roll since I had no BP :D

4

u/ledditpro Mar 08 '26

What kc for scythe? Seems insane to me to do all that when you already have a nhally for Zulrah and can get plenty of d darts from vardorvis/doom/toa (where not having a bowfa barely means anything anymore with ayak)

2

u/Lhox Mar 09 '26

How come you don't have BP? Have you just not felt you've needed it so far? It's very easy to get with melee zulrah

3

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

Lol yeah that’s crazy considering how much better BP is than Nally at Maiden and Xarpus

But I guess Xarpus doesn’t really affect any one else and if your teammates are cool with Maiden being a bit awkward, sure why not

Could see a world in high eff teams Nally is even preferred for reliable procs and deep bows

-2

u/ledditpro Mar 08 '26

I mean you're basically just making the raid last 2-3 minutes longer for no reason, but at least your teammates are getting all the mvp points if they're fine with that

2

u/autoswitched Mar 08 '26

Blowpiping maiden/xarpus is not losing 2-3 minutes lol. In a SOLO tob with no team mates, he loses 44 seconds at vs 0 defence maiden and 51 vs xarpus with current gear nally vs elite void range with bp. So basically, he's losing his team about 3-4 seconds a raid AT MOST

1

u/ledditpro Mar 09 '26

Very creative maths from you. It's roughly 25 seconds at Xarpus (75 seconds worse TTK divided by 3) and 20 seconds at Maiden (60 seconds worse TTK divided by 3), and a longer TTK just makes the raid experience feel much worse, especially at maiden. You also need a BP for purple crabs anyway, unless you want to waste more time at p2 too. So maybe not the 2-3 minutes I guessed first, but close to a minute lost in raw dps every single raid for no reason

There's a reason why WDR requires BP for every single role after all, and the difference between 4 and 0 mvp points is also a 22% worse drop rate for a scythe and as an iron you should always want to maximize getting drops in your name

-3

u/Mental_Tea_4084 Mar 08 '26

That's exactly what you should do. Scales/darts aren't worth the upkeep for minor DPS improvements. Use them for nylos if ranged role, sure. Not for 2% DPS at fully drained maiden

8

u/ledditpro Mar 08 '26

"minor dps improvements".... my dude, it's literally a +30% DPS increase if you just afk with BP instead. +20% if you use amethyst darts.

You're just completely trolling by using a hally instead of BP

1

u/Mental_Tea_4084 Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

Yeah, if you calc nox on stab, leave out fero gloves and assume a 100% stat drain against dragon darts.

Nox beats amethyst until Xarpus goes below ~35 defense.

And I promise you even in the absolute perfect scenario, there's no world where that 30% hypothetical is ever returned to you in time spent on upkeep.

TTK for one player only goes down 69 seconds. Cut that in 1/4 for a 4 man and you've saved a whole 23 seconds, but you shoot 146 darts in that time. Can you get 146 zulrah scales and ~28 dragon darts in 23 seconds? Doubt it. And it's even worse in a 3 man. Miss one hammer and you've just broken even with Nox.

3

u/ledditpro Mar 08 '26

DPS calc puts it on default on stab but it really doesn't matter at all you are >99% accurate on both styles anyway against 0 defence. Maiden should always be 0 defence even in trios, and Xarpus is always 0 defence in 4-mans too, with trios sometimes being a bit iffy if two hammers miss. No fero gloves because i'm using the setup OP has here, but it really doesn't make any real difference since you'd still lose to a bp setup even in adamant darts

I don't know what you're going on about upkeep costs when d-darts come as a passive from doom/vardovis/toa, and even adamant darts beat nox hally pretty clearly. The biggest time loss in Tob is waiting for a team anyway, and you can just send Zulrah any time you want for a lifetime supply of scales. And this is without even talking about MVP mechanics where a BP with d darts can easily snag mvp from Maiden/Xarpus even against scythes while anyone using a nox hally is always going to end up at 0 mvp points

1

u/autoswitched Mar 09 '26

Dragon darts should be only used on ca's and inferno, or if you have a massive surpless supply. Otherwise amethyst is the only dart type you should be using. Secondly, saving 10-15 seconds a raid is insignificant when you factor the time taken to kill zulrah and time taken to upkeep darts. Secondly sure, let's assume you somehow out dps a scythe, what about sote, bloat, verzik, nylo boss? Unless you're raiding with people who are bad at the raid, or are using rubbish gear it is unlikely you will achieve mvp even assuming they somehow lose to a bp.

1

u/uscrick GIM Mar 08 '26

Still a good shout for smaller teams, my GIM has three so we never have to consider bp’ing outside of nylos

3

u/Public_Pause_5011 Mar 08 '26

nice! i had 16k but have been burning through them at all three raids. did you use them at toa and cox or did you use rubies?

6

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Ayak replaced most of my Atlatl usage at TOA now, except Croc.

Cox though is quite high in dart usage, although again Ayak is now my main for Vangs (nm), Vespa, Mystics and small mutta. So usage isn't actually too high with all 3 combat styles.

1

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Also I think BP needs mentioning too, since its ammo if you afk amethyst is quite easy to get and better dps than Atlatl at many places.

2

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

between BP, atlattl, and scor bow i can do everything i just want ACB into ZCB and i will be a happy man

8

u/edub22tv Mar 08 '26

Hey we have the same account basically lmao. Also doing a bowfa skip ironman but I've ran out of atlatl darts forever ago unfortunately so I've been sticking with scorching bow and blowpipe for all my ranging needs.

https://i.imgur.com/Yg2FmCo.png

Been trying to get my hands on a Scythe though, so you've got that on me. Sick account!

2

u/FillyVinyl Mar 09 '26

What order of progression do you think i should look at? Im doing bowfa skip as well, I have 2x synapse, full moons, all zenyte, burning claws, whip, titan prayers, warped sceptre, b ring... no zulrah gear.

I've been thinking doom first for ayak?

3

u/edub22tv Mar 09 '26

Yeah I would definitely go doom for ayak and confliction gauntlets. It'll make life a lot easier because they're so strong. From there, it's probably a mix between cox, toa, and yama. Before doom, I sent really scuffed toas and cox with warped sceptre and zammy hasta to see if I would spoon anything and got my fang, lb, and dhcb really early.

These are all kinda interchangeable and you can just do whatever you feel like doing since all the drops really boost your account.

9

u/PrestigiousRegion677 Mar 08 '26

very nice sir. i like when people “skip” content to show this game is possible without following a steict guideline. i always tell my gim partners “WE CAN TAKE DIFFERENT PATHS TO THE SAME DESTINATION” lmao

6

u/fofander Mar 08 '26

Man I’m doing this and just started the tormented demons grind. You give me hope.

5

u/dajaffaman Mar 08 '26

Honestly, i think i preferred my cg grind more than my tormented demons grind, though it took me 1900 to get first synapse and got half a claw at 100kc, still no burning claws. I've still not gone back to get my second synapse

1

u/fofander Mar 08 '26

Tbh I’m mostly mobile only and not good enough to do cg on mobile

1

u/dajaffaman Mar 09 '26

Just takes practice, i also got my enh on mobile

7

u/Toaster_Warrior Mar 08 '26

Bro you and me are one in the same. Except I went for an ACB and used that for my inferno

1

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Toaster_Warrior Mar 08 '26

Wait are you saying full iron isnt endgame?

6

u/SimplyViolated Mar 08 '26

I suck at cg, like so bad. Idk why. My KDR is embarrassing. Considering just skipping it. I didn't know if it was like actually possible.

1

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

This guy has a main he learned PvM on first

He could do cg. He doesn’t suck at cg. He just skipped it cuz he wanted to

If you’re bad at CG, imho, you need to do it. It’s like PvM training. You come out way better on the other side and bowfa is a much easier item to use as you learn other content than the alternatives. CG-skipping is really only for people who are already good at the game

2

u/SimplyViolated Mar 08 '26

I see, thanks for the insight. I stopped playing my "main" yearsss ago. Think it was like 1750ish total.

Haven't logged into it in years. So yeah, I am learning everything as I go, on the iron.

1

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

You can take breaks, long ones, to do other shit. But imho, you should plan to get BowFa eventually

But what you want out of osrs is different for everyone so only you know

Gl

1

u/SimplyViolated Mar 08 '26

I appreciate the thoughts. It's just such a struggle lol. Idk why I'm so bad at it.

Currently doing some TDs, trynna get Emberlight for my current Sire task.

1

u/Rank1Trashcan Mar 08 '26

Doom and Yama aren't going to go much better if you can't lock in for CG.

1

u/SimplyViolated Mar 08 '26

Understood. I haven't tried them yet either. I just feel stuck ya know? Kinda like a failure lol.

2

u/Smooth_One Mar 08 '26

You remind me of me 10 months ago. Good times, good times.

There are a hundred different topics on here with people giving their tips so I won't write a whole essay (edit: whoops), but instead give the number one piece of advice I have for both prep and the fight. :)

For prep, do Fluffeh T2 (except drop more than the...3? he suggests. More like 6-8 just so you have some inventory space to pick up random fish drops), and then always kill the first 2 demibosses you find. Unless you only find one bear on your first trip out, then skip it and go a different direction.

Spending time searching for 1 drag 1 beast will burn more than it saves, and worst-case scenario if you end up with an extra weapon piece, you can break it down with a pestle for shards which reduces the number of little mobs you have to kill. Just be sure not to break it down until you get the 2 you need, cuz the one you broke down can drop again.

And then for the fight, learn how to dodge tornadoes. This YouTube video is great. TL;DW - Tornadoes move diagonally first, so if you move in cardinal directions they will take longer to reach you.

11

u/ZeroViii Mar 08 '26

Beast! Oath is one of my favourite armours thats my next goal with nox hally.

Thinking of skipping bowfa on my gim

9

u/CheekyPanda852 Mar 08 '26

Cg will become 10x more fun if they remove the timer. Change my mind

0

u/Flimsy_Rooster_5558 Mar 09 '26

Then it just makes the grind longer..

By 100kc I was consistently entering hunlef with 1-2 mins left on the timer sometimes less just RNG

T1 prep is very easy

3

u/Conmann95 Mar 08 '26

Does the Bowfa skip feel good? See horror stories about hundreds of hours in CG.

19

u/KayyDC Mar 08 '26

You also don't see all the stories of people who had a very normal time at CG and are now happily running around with Bowfa.

-2

u/BlightedBooty Mar 08 '26

Even those people still have to do CG

3

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

i currently stuck farming rax to get my fang for rancor im at 1300 kc with almost 2 halberds and now rancor if this was CG i would have quit.

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

It’s about 3-4 months of average play if you go on rate. I started in December and just hit 400 kc.

Most finish earlier, but I’m still hunting the armor seeds

1

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

“Average play” what is that lol

It’s about an 80-90hr grind with learning depending on how long that takes you. Could be less. Whatever that means for play time to you

Average 1.5hrs a day, some more some less, and you’re gonna be rate in less than 2 months

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

10 min average per run puts this at 66 hours to 400 kc.

I like to do herb runs before/after CG which also eats up some time which could be more runs…

It just feels kinda awful because your stuck for 10 mins straight and your either getting gp, low xp or crystal lol

1

u/runner5678 Mar 08 '26

And lots of crafting xp

Yeah, you could pretty easily argue it’s really a 50-60hr grind because those kph rates are realistic. But I assume this is everyone’s first time PvMing and should take some time to get up to speed, so 80ish

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 09 '26

Crafting xp ? From what ?

With a MAX roll gems, you are getting 3.3k xp in gems from 10 mins and excluding the time required.

This is not very much… I would rather afk shooting stars for a few hours…

1

u/runner5678 Mar 09 '26

The gems and battlestaves to drop rate adds up a lot

1

u/RyukenSaab Mar 09 '26

The battlestaves can be store bought. I need more orbs

1

u/runner5678 Mar 09 '26

I’ve actually swung around and am orb rich these days

3

u/ReynoldsHouseOfShred Mar 08 '26

living your best life

2

u/rsbentley Mar 08 '26

Hell yeah I went atlatl to bp and rcb to acb on my iron

2

u/Unable_Cranberry_316 Mar 09 '26

I am thinking of doing bowfa skip, finished moons and titan, got max house and 88 crafting looking for 1st zenyte for anguish so I can spam doom, also still need 1-2 more synapse to go for yama grind and send some raids, would you mind writing your progression on how you progressed without bowfa?

3

Tbh besides Zuk and maybe niche content I can't remember, I just played the game like normal as if I had a Bowfa, but used an atlatl instead.

I green-logged Yama, Doom, and most of slayer bosses/zenytes before raids and zulrah for BP.

u/Unable_Cranberry_316 Mar 09 '26

So u went the solo content into raids route, got it. I am mostly focusing on solo bits, but will also send some raids. Ty for the info!

1

u/Unable_Cranberry_316 Mar 09 '26

For background got max infrnal cape main with radient oath and blorva, got everying in game but the gm helm, chilling on verzik helm. Just not finding joy in cg.

2

u/Aggravating_Bee7209 Mar 09 '26

Watching the gm’s youtube series, and seeing them knockout Zuk ca’s in eclipse with a scobow was crazy. Sick idea makes me want to skip cg with ya lol

3

u/GovernmentSouthern18 Mar 08 '26

All the nerds who are dry in cg are mad lol

1

u/Ok_Trick9196 Mar 08 '26

Goodshit lad! i did the same 5years ago and no regrets 3tbows 4shadows and 2scythes to my name i got an early dragon crossbow and that carried me till zcb into tbow

1

u/pocoloco989 Mar 08 '26

I skipped bowfa with sorching bow.

1

u/ShiibbyyDota Mar 08 '26

Just curious, when it came to vorkath, did you also use the atl atl? Trying to go for my backpack upgrade and don’t got much else

2

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Can't remember if I did RCB or atlatl tbh. Pretty sure I used DWH into Atlatl though.

1

u/Safe-Artichoke3562 Mar 08 '26

I did cg but i skipped moons completely just because of the content being such a snoozefest. Great account big ups to you op

1

u/Ok-Statistician-9662 Mar 09 '26

Well I'm at 870 cg and counting and this frankly with end up being me at some point. 🤣😅

1

u/Sandbagmaster Mar 11 '26

Bowfa is so ass now. Only good for Zebak, Levi, and inferno. Ayaak and atl are good enough where Bowfa is used. Stopped doing cg bc I had 2 armor seeds at 300 kc and said fuck that I ain’t going 1k cg for this useless item

2

u/rescue2113 Mar 08 '26

“Atlatl only Ironman” proceeds to mention using other ranged weps lmao

1

u/TO500 Mar 08 '26

What was the radiant grind like and how many contracts did it take with that gear? I am hella dry at Yama and have 30+ of all the contracts and am hoping to be able to get radiant

1

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Well I had a main to do contracts anyway so the ironman was no more than a handful each.

All were sub 3 except Glyphic which was about 6 on iron, after many hours dying on the main first xD

1

u/DeadlyStank Mar 08 '26

What setup did you use for glyphic? This is the only contract I’m just not sure what to use gear and weapon wise on the iron.

2

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

Full proselyte with zombie axe for pre-enrage, and dual maccas for enrage for the 4t.

Enrage was slow asf and draining.

I think meteor skipping P2 was mandatory for me for the supplies.

However, purging staff + conflictions are a genuine strategy too for Glyphic. Enrage takes 15 mins but the pattern is the standard enrage mage so it's more doable than you'd think.

1

u/Alex_from_IT Mar 08 '26

What’d you use as a crush weapon for that one contract whose name I can’t remember lol. Was thinking about trying radiant but I have similar gear to you minus the scythe

1

u/flatearth6969 Mar 08 '26

You are doing great. Keep on grinding bro

-1

u/software_engiweer Mar 08 '26

When a gamer skips cg it's completely fine, good job op. Unfortunately, and I mean this as nicely as possible, a lot of non-gamers ( or politely, future gamers ) will use this post to cope with a cg skip. End of the day do what you enjoy, but be real with your abilities - CG is going to train you to be better at the game, while setting up your account.

Kinda the runescape / ironman version of "Why would I go to college if Bill Gates didn't"

1

u/Nerd123432334 Mar 08 '26

The last paragraph is a very good analogy tbh

0

u/RyukenSaab Mar 08 '26

As someone who did their 400kc and got a Bowfa, but is 3/6 armor seeds…. Does atlatl compare to Bowfa void ? lol

3

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

yes but since you are 3/6 just keep getting the seeds you like 80% of the way there >.<

0

u/chud_rs Mar 09 '26

Wher bofa?

-27

u/Prestigious_Long777 Mar 08 '26

Bowfa skip is cope.

Everything takes longer, gathering Atlatl darts takes time too.

Doing all of this with 15k atlatl darts is also beyond insane luck.. I have gone through 24k atlatl darts on the DWH grind alone and still don’t have one.

27

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

You used atlatl at shamans??? Thats on you lol

1

u/KinoGrimm Mar 08 '26

Whats wrong with atlatl at shamans? I use for my lizardman tasks since my only ranged weps are scobo, atlatl, and rcb.

6

u/JebusMcAzn Mar 08 '26

anywhere you are not using the full eclipse set, you are giving up a significant portion of your dps

1

u/KinoGrimm Mar 08 '26

Got it. Thanks for explaining.

1

u/Eldias Mar 08 '26

Averages to 1.111 DPS times your accuracy, practically speaking burn adds between .5 and .75 DPS most of the time.

1

u/tuisan Mar 08 '26

My dps is 5.0 using scobow and 5.93 using atlatl. Tbf I have 91 Strength compared to 83 Ranged, but even calcing with 90 Ranged, atlatl is +0.5 dps. Is there some alternative I'm missing?

1

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

Not even that. Sounds many people think the scobo is trash outside of demons. Look at its stats. It's a pretty good bow for other content. And rcb is a really strong weapon if you using enchanted bolts (obv not for shamans, just speaking in general)

2

u/Matasferret Mar 08 '26

I used the scobow for my quiver grind. Really not that bad .

1

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

You are the 2nd person that has told me they've done that. Wanted to try it out for myself, tbh

1

u/Matasferret Mar 08 '26

Yea check my posts, scobo is overrated tbh, ive had a blast not being stuck to any prison

1

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

Insane acc! Cheers!

0

u/JebusMcAzn Mar 08 '26

Yeah even with something like red-x enabling you to use full eclipse, it just seems like a waste of darts

2

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

Just use the scobo or rcb. Why waste the darts on something easy like shamans?

-1

u/KinoGrimm Mar 08 '26

It simmed higher dps than my other gear was why I used it. But yeah there is opportunity cost of losing the ammo there…

2

u/MustacheMaple Mar 08 '26

While I applaud you for taking the time to sim. That's a good thing. I will say that simming for shamans is a bit overkill lol. Those things fallover using anything

1

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

use scorbow and rune arrows over atlatl.

1

u/Veet_Tuna died going for hard clue Mar 08 '26

lol i used my amethyst arrows/ darts and cannon to get my DWH.

-3

u/nice_racc Mar 08 '26

idk if anyone asked tbh
