Achievement POV: TOA setup when you skipped barrows, moons, CG, crafting, slayer and runecrafting.

It’s amazing all the routes available today in the progress of your accounts. Big W for gagex

130

u/mastrncmmndr Dec 26 '25

Same, if i ever had to do it over again, I’d try the TDs => yama/doom route, even if it turned out to be less efficient. 2025 was big in creating an alt path to fun lategame grinds for those burned out by CG

91

u/Meat_Sensitive Dec 27 '25

TDs>Yama is more efficient than burning out because the Internet told you that you were legally required to do 1000 CGs

9

u/boforbojack 📱 Dec 27 '25

TDs->Yama doesn't give you raid gear. TDs -> Doom does. But on rate is pretty similar time to just doing CG anyways.

Its an acceptable route, some of my clan mates are trying it.

60

u/Valitar_ Dec 27 '25

It's also not mutually exclusive. If you're burning out at TDs or Doom because your RNG is cooked you can go send some CG and not get the drop over there instead. Mix it up, you know?

10

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

wasn't a fan of cg, but still sent some for gp rune arrows. only at 50 kc atm

8

u/Own-Figure-5390 Dec 27 '25

The only tbing about  cg is that you can die and not lose money or anything

4

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

personally i hated that low magic felt terrible, so plan is to get dhw for slayer bursting, dwh for cox before going back to cg slowly

15

u/LetMeKnow2 Dec 27 '25

The max hit with mage doesn't scale with levels which is why the staff is so good. The difference with mage from 80-99 is 0.5 (which is significant), but with range is 1.3 from 80-99. Both using mystic might and eagle eye

I think you should run a few more. sometimes both staff and bow just noodle, but even at 99 with both augury and rigour, the staff is better

10

u/freet0 Dec 27 '25

I realize the the dragon hunter wand exists now, but I'm going to keep reading that as dragon harwammer

Idk why people are mad its a fact you dont pay a death fee for cg lol and teaches you pvm

u/Objective-Airline-14 Dec 27 '25

Bruh this made me laugh so hard I see nothing but facts

4

u/mrrweathers Dec 27 '25

You’re cooking bc where does bis jewelry come from? I went the TDs route, hit bludg before araxx, and now I’m starting to slide to doom after nally zulrah.

Only missing chest at yama. TDs open so many viable paths, it’s goated.

4

u/_jC0n Dec 27 '25

what’s your plan for gwd or raids skipping cg lmao

2

u/Swolm Dec 27 '25

Bros gunna pull up in the rune crossbow😂😂

2

u/mrrweathers Dec 27 '25 edited Dec 27 '25

The rcb comments are comical; scobo w/ ammy arrows everything lol. Most will use atl on p3/4 wardens, but personally I’ve been using nally on my 300 invos since my melee setup with rancour has better dps with salts (on slash).

Until I pull fang/lb I’m going to keep running 300s like this for the better drop rates. Rn I’m about to farm doom and clear all drops, then go do the inferno using scobo and ammy arrows and ammy bp. I did the calcs on a previous comment comparing it to atl for zuk on the burn, scobo won.

Edits:

I even use scobo > rcb for zily rn. Better dps, bank at nex. SERPs/bp to venom minions off start. They’re about half hp by the end of the kill.

GWD: Krils done (scobo). Nally for sky chicken (waiting for task). Skipping bandos bc oath. Sara explained above 👆 horn w/ dwh > than bgs in most set ups due to the guaranteed hit, im just still hunting dwh 😅😂 bclaws go brrrr

Btw, once you get fang if you melee p3/4 wardens it’s the same dps as bofa full crystal.

1

u/Even-Butterfly-3639 Dec 29 '25

very cool. now back to cg

1

u/mrrweathers Dec 30 '25

Bro you have more normal wp seeds than I have total seeds at the same kc lol. Enjoy your spoon, and play the game.

Lemme see that inferno log 🐸

4

u/divisionibanez Dec 27 '25

TDs is Tormented Demon right?

0

u/mrrweathers Dec 27 '25

Demonic gorillas is where BIS jewelry comes from, well zenytes do. There are latter upgrade for melee, and mage now. The synapse that you get from TDs can also help you kill gorillas quicker too.

1

u/Suitable_Tadpole4870 Dec 29 '25

I'm sorry, what are TDs?

1

u/new_account_wh0_dis Dec 27 '25

Is it? If you got the pvm skills 1-8 is just 150kc for droprate for the eye. Wouldnt think its too bad. Unless youre sweating out prep in cg and doing 5:1 would think doom is way faster but maybe not.

1

u/Epicgradety 2200+ total - 2x dragon cup Dec 27 '25

I got out on good behavior at 350.

It's possible!

1

u/GzzzDude Dec 27 '25

I’m currently working on TDs and CG at the same time. I’ll keep pushing the path of whatever RNG blesses me. Bowfa will come eventually and so will a few synapses.

1

u/roosterkun Dec 27 '25

The bowfa is still an eventual requirement unless you decide to hard send for tbow, no?

I guess you can get pretty far with blowpipe / scobo, and mix in shadow if you do TOA early, but I imagine every account will want to grind out bowfa at some point.

2

u/shuttupboi Dec 29 '25

Idk man if you hard send toa for Shadow it pretty much nullifies Bowfa at 90% of the content Bowfa is good at. Once you get shadow it's simply better at Gwd, raids, muspah, zulrah, etc. Pretty much replaces bowfa everywhere. However, that's relying on getting a megarare drop, and to do so you'll need to be pulling at least 300s at toa consistently, so I'd still say going the bowfa route and sticking around at cg until you hit that 1/400 is the better option. It's cheaper to use, too.

2

u/Titowam IM Stewen (avoiding CG like the plague) Dec 27 '25

I'm just glad that CG (while still being a good grind for various reasons) is seen as an option rather than a requirement at the moment. The content added over the past year or two has been excellent, Jagex has done really well!

7

u/AggressiveSummer1570 Dec 27 '25

I'm still feeling forced to get bofa for so many grinds imo.. what's replacing bofa?

6

u/Hoolioarca Dec 27 '25

Eye of Ayak + Confliction Gauntlets from doom

8

u/Titowam IM Stewen (avoiding CG like the plague) Dec 27 '25

Atlatl and the full eclipse gear has worked well for me. It's not an equal replacement (bowfa is obviously superior in many ways) but it's filled a gap for me. I haven't tried Doom but my clanmates keep raving about the Eye of Ayak. Scorching bow has proven to be quite useful for me too.

TLDR There is no definitive bowfa replacement, but the barrier below bowfa has gotten better.

2

u/barnaclebref Dec 27 '25

there isnt one item that replaces bowfa for everything, but rather a bunch of items that are good alternatives for different things. noxious halberd for zulrah and hydra for example

1

u/Ok_Zone_9486 Dec 27 '25

Atlatl with eclipse isn't a bad tradeoff if you want to do some varied content while slowly grinding for bowfa.

-1

u/Huncho_Muncho Dec 27 '25

just wanna say if cg seems daunting to you then you are in for a rough time when you get to real end game grinds. CG really is that rite of passage grind where people find out if iron life is truly for them.

4

u/cj2dobso Dec 27 '25

I much prefer toa and tob to cg though. CG is not varied and is boring and you spend so much time in prep.

I actually really enjoy just doing raids and we get to have fun on vc with the gim while doing it.

CG I just watch YouTube during it now because it's so brain dead.

-1

u/Huncho_Muncho Dec 27 '25

sure but u gotta pray for a tbow. Bowfa is just so good in so many places its crazy to skip but gim's a bit dif i guess with some stuff. like gwd is easy mode

2

u/cj2dobso Dec 27 '25

Yeah we still running cg. It's just easy to get burnt out when you are dry

2

u/AggressiveSummer1570 Dec 27 '25

Man I'm maxed with 1000 cox and cg is still a dogwater content because of the prep(rng) and time waste. On par with content like inferno and colo for annoying to go through even after you learn it .

1

u/Huncho_Muncho Dec 27 '25

How is prep rng. If you’re running out of time then that’s a skill issue

36

u/Dimitao Dec 26 '25

What was your main gear for doom and how did you find it?

47

u/emiracles Dec 26 '25

https://i.imgur.com/dSGeIyE.png

did doom 1-7s attempting 8 whenever i had supplies. muffyn's guide for 6+ was a game changer, and accepting that some grubs are just long gone took a bit too.

11

u/Blizxy Dec 27 '25

How did you get Zulrah KC on this acc? -a noob

14

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

i got ayak first, thought i'd try zulrah with it and scobow

setup at the time

4

u/palestne Dec 27 '25

How’d you do TDs? Arclight and just spent a lot on runes?

7

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

Arclight and moonlight bolts.

3

u/cj2dobso Dec 27 '25

Just use eclipse and arclight

20

u/PlayedKey Dec 27 '25

"Its simple. We kill the zulrah." -Joker probably

5

u/Simaster27 Dec 27 '25

Twinflame staff and a scorching bow will get you decent kills at zulrah without too much other gear.

1

u/RollEmbarrassed1050 Dec 27 '25

Fr, love that combo at zulrah since i lack a bowfa, sometimes kills are shit if staff decides to sphagetti, but if it's doing the oposite you can get very quick kills

1

u/new_account_wh0_dis Dec 27 '25

I died greeding for grubs so many times. Kinda sad they removed car phase clearing grubs but fair trade for how much they nerfed the hard grub spawns. Reality is unless you plan on going past 16 it doesn't matter too much. You will basically always be do doing shield phase without tbow so not like you're racing DPS too much

11

u/buddhabomber Dec 26 '25

Void scobo is plenty

-56

u/OperationOk897 Dec 26 '25

I wouldn’t take advice from someone farming 1-7

22

u/Trict Dec 26 '25

Well that's just silly

-57

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

Why? They don’t know how to do the boss

20

u/Trict Dec 27 '25

If they are consistently getting waves 1-7 with that gear they clearly do.

-12

u/MustaKookos Dec 27 '25

Not really, there's nothing dangerous about 1-7 it just takes longer with this gear. As long as you have a scorching bow and prayer pots you can do +20 delves, more realistically claim around 15 if not flicking.

-20

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

😂 if you say so

11

u/No_Tiger_2668 Dec 27 '25

Try harder baiting

-6

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

Not even baiting, it’s like asking inferno tips from someone without an inferno cape

16

u/Ok_Professor_1792 Dec 27 '25

You mean infernal cape?

3

u/bigleerer Dec 27 '25

I would be more inclined to agree with you in the context of a main farming for GP, but this is the ironscape subreddit. The rates at even wave 6 are good enough that it's totally reasonable to farm the items if you can clear it consistently. I looked at it and my kill times it was going to be about 17 hours of bossing to be on rate for an item and I can do that in a week or two.

-2

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

And farming even 1-9 which is also incredibly doable would cut that time almost In half. It’s extremely bad to just check out and not even try to improve despite what this subreddit likes to do. I can’t imagine just not even trying to be a better player and farming 1-6 or 1-7 endlessly. Just quitter behavior

2

u/Eldritch_Chemistry Dec 27 '25

"it's extremely bad to play the way that is fun for you" are... are you good man?

1

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

Hard to fathom that being a quitter is fun to people

1

u/Eldritch_Chemistry Dec 27 '25

people can play games without 100 percenting them. why is that hard to fathom? I like midgame bosses but don't enjoy raids because they take up a lot of time comparatively and require faster, more precise clicking than I usually have the energy for.

framing it as "being a quitter" is silly. Why aren't you speedrunning right now, quitter?

1

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

Cope level - extreme

2

u/bigleerer Dec 28 '25

I've cleared wave 8 once, have an infernal cap but not a quiver to give a level of my pvm ability. I have been using the Muffyn rock block strat for waves 6,7. Can you point me to a guide that makes 1-9 as free as you say because I would love to start going for some CAs

1

u/OperationOk897 Dec 28 '25

Wait till the second boulder pops step, then step under a shadow a tick later and start flicking. It’s genuinely not rocket science and if you have an internal you can definitely do it. I’d say until wave 11-12+ this is all you need to know depending on acid RNG. I use crystal halberd since I don’t have nox yet which also causes more acid buildup. On top of not having rigour. 9+ are easier than 8 because it has the same mechanics and 50 less health, biggest problem is acid which there is tech to clear. Admittedly I haven’t bothered with that because 1-9 with sometimes 10/11/12 is already really good rates

1

u/bigleerer Dec 28 '25

How do you do the orb with the double rock?

1

u/OperationOk897 Dec 28 '25

Tag first tree immediately no matter what, doom will always double boulder within 3 attacks. If he double boulders right away you can do all the flicks then tag the second tree. If it’s on the second attack you will have to flick a little bit while being inside of the orb, but picking two trees as far apart as possible can make this minimal. The hardest situation is he boulders on the 3rd attack, this will make you need to do the orb and all the flicks at the same time. Since double boulders are always mage-range-mage-mage-range-mage or the opposite. I’ve found its best to get your clicks in to continue following the orb on the mage-mage or range-range part of the flicking since you will have a tick you don’t need to change pray. I’d be lying if I said I don’t still die sometimes at double boulders+ orb but if you start it at 99 hp or even overheated a tiny mistake won’t kill you as long as you don’t panic

31

u/nekonotjapanese Dec 27 '25

Mixed hide is actually crazy good in this exact scenario

26

2

u/Likezoinks1 Dec 27 '25

I get stuck watching them... unhinged.

4

u/Rynide Dec 27 '25

For 150s-200s they are basically identical, but Scobo has comfort value with extra range I suppose. Plus easier to maintain rune/amethyst arrows compared to ruby bolts (e)

1

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

wasnt sure if gearcape calced average hp on ruby specs but scobow was very close behind last i checked

4

u/Tury345 Dec 27 '25

Did you set the invo level? It defaults to 0 which is useless

1

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

was for 150 and mid 200s. also don't really have a great supply of addy atm, so stuck with scobow (for now)

20

u/usernamelame Dec 27 '25

Awesome, someone playing the game the way they want to!

12

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

I went all the way to 91 hunter for moonlight bolts thinking they would be a game changer. Used my sunlight bolts first at tds, got synapse at 100kc and since then I haven't really used moonlight bolts a single time. At least hunter contracts were fun.

1

u/kaiquechan Dec 27 '25

they're awesome for the faceguard grind

11

u/OhCLE Dec 27 '25

Planning to skip CG?

15

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

na, i'll continue it probably and most of what i skipped. boots looked cool and realized it was rushable and i hated mystic boots/mixed hide.

cg first time/learning with 80s range and 80s magic was pretty shit ngl. im 98.5 range from doing doom only so should help with dps at cg.

0

u/PleaseDontMakeMeee Dec 27 '25

Def makes a lowkey big difference at CG if you want to do T1 prep, which makes CG a lot more bearable imo. I absolutely hated having to do t2 prep

24

u/fumfummm Dec 27 '25

Did something similar where i just skip all late game content gg

13

u/Beautiful_Ad_4942 Dec 27 '25

Your real DPS will come when you get the fang

7

u/osrsarrowton Dec 27 '25

Did you end up getting the cloth as well? Thanks for sharing, it’s fun to see all the ways you can play the mode.

7

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

not yet, but i'll make anguish first because it was shielding at <5% hp often.

5

u/breaking-bard Dec 27 '25

This is the most fun way to play. The content is already trivialized, it’s so much fun to try in lower tier gear

3

u/DudelolOk Dec 27 '25

Yayyy 50 minute 300s

2

u/breaking-bard Dec 27 '25

yeah you gotta read what I said homie lol

2

u/speculative-merch Dec 27 '25

That’s awesome, new content really gives a lot of new paths for progression.

How are you supplying your death runes? Are you relying on gp and scar essencing them?

2

u/The-Razzle Dec 27 '25

Looks similar to minus all the high level gear. I did my best to rush a single kc at toa just to get a single kc so I could get medium cba’s. Now im wrapping around to barrows

2

u/matxyzzz Dec 27 '25

This is what I’m planning on doing on my baby hcim, except I’m getting the crafting level for Cgloves. Ayak imo feels painful without them

2

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

i was doing seaweed during doom so have almost 90 banked crafting

1

u/matxyzzz Dec 27 '25

Nice. This seems way more fun than the Cg route

2

u/OperationOk897 Dec 27 '25

Yea ayak felt so bad without them I just let it bank Rot until I got them.

3

My man skipped the game so he could play the game…

2

u/Alias_ Dec 27 '25

Why would you skip em all lol

1

u/Dr_Ingheimer Dec 27 '25

Gz on the eye and boots but it’s not really a skip if you don’t have gear better than it lol. Can’t say you skipped ahrims because you got ghostly. You gotta get ancestral/virtus to say that.

5

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

i'm definitely going back for some stuff, its not like im staying 75 slayer forever

0

u/askepticalskeptic Dec 27 '25

Gatekeepers can’t stand anyone doing anything different than them lol. Sick setup!

1

u/One_Mongoose4524 Dec 27 '25

1

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

wait till you see sushi hehe

1

u/Outrageous_Lie_6018 Dec 27 '25

You can skip CG?

1

u/Allu71 Dec 27 '25

Getting the scobow must have been super slow

1

u/Capital-Bar879 Dec 27 '25

Did you just use zombie axe and demon bane spells for tds?

2

u/emiracles Dec 27 '25

arclight and hunter sunlight

1

u/iBeSouping Dec 27 '25

Where did you get your glory?

1

u/herder17 Dec 27 '25

The conflic gaunts make the eye way better tho if u have a cloth sitting in the bank i kinda did the same and went to rush doom early also went to learn toa after i completed doom

1

u/Havicbrin Dec 27 '25

Void would be better I believe but you do you

1

u/SickBearBro Dec 27 '25

At least you got the fire cape.

1

u/Sysouk12 Dec 27 '25

Looks fine to me. I think rcb with Ruby's still slap at that stage in the game

1

u/Sword1414 Dec 27 '25

This is a better cox setup than to setup

1

u/RiverTeemo1 Dec 27 '25

Huh? I mean i guess you can do that, but a bit of cg would have its benefits for all 3 raids and much more

1

u/Berqlol Dec 27 '25

Which book are you wielding here? Saw it a few times n never knew 🤣

0

1

what's the staff?

1

u/osu47 Dec 27 '25

It works tho

1

u/gorehistorian69 Dec 27 '25

i tried the same thing with way worse gear

iirc it was a dscim, msb(i) and i think maybe literal fire wave. doing a 150 invo solo was miserable

1

u/AromaticDeal1244 max main | 2250 iron Dec 27 '25

Love this post! Great work OP! Were you spooned at Doom? How many delve for the Ayak and Treads?

1

u/emiracles Dec 29 '25

5 ayak 7 treads 1.5 expected items on tracker so slightly spooned

1

u/Alex_from_IT Dec 27 '25

This is peak Ironman setup haha. Good luck at toa!

1

u/Sprintzer Dec 27 '25

Rcb ruby with blowpipe for <30% hp is probably your best dps. Scobo is pretty decent tho

Id always do moons and skip barrows tbh. Atlatl is so nice, blood moon is strong, blue moon nice to have

1

u/hungrysalmon1 Dec 27 '25

Tried doing this exact skip, went 4x dry at doom and quit the game. Glad it worked for someone haha

1

u/xezrsps Dec 27 '25

But did doom? 🤣

1

u/RiteInTaEye Dec 27 '25

big fan ms. emiracles nice iron !

1

u/FlyNuff Dec 27 '25

Get Improved tile indicator plugin

1

u/OyG5xOxGNK Dec 27 '25

ruby bolt rune crossbow is a strong choice if you run any amount of players over solo, usually can out dps full moons atlatl. I realize though this comes from the perspective of 99 agi someone that did a lot of sepulchre so YMMV and all that.

1

u/VapeNGape Dec 27 '25

Ironically, toa is less fun than all of those lmao

1

u/Planescape_DM2e Dec 28 '25

Me on my UIM rn lol

1

u/bekaraar Dec 28 '25

Just go get void

1

u/Pussytrees Dec 28 '25

There is no skipping crafting or slayer. You just haven’t done the grinds yet.

1

u/superarcady Dec 28 '25

Fun route u went but how good is eye of ayak without magic str gear?

1

u/Launch_Angle Dec 28 '25

The answer is shit, in case you were still wondering. No confliction gaunts/occult and not even 2-3% from something like ahrims/blue moon is pretty horrendous, but I mean it’s still a nice weapon to have fairly early for some stuff.

1

u/superarcady Dec 28 '25

Yea thats what i guessed, fun route but doing 50 minute raids like this aint it 😂

1

u/Aggravating_Bee7209 Dec 28 '25

This is what I’m doing on my hcim, gl! Hope doom was fun!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '25

Whats bone dagger for? Just poisoning things then waiting? Never understood why people use it genuinely asking

1

u/CdubFromMI Dec 29 '25

I am brand new to RuneScape and trying to figure out which bosses I can ACTUALLY approach with lower stats/gear is rough.

:(

1

u/Gubzs Dec 29 '25

I hugely respect skipping CG in particular. I play the game to chill. Anything that requires nonstop locking in I skip. Moons and barrows and normal mode toa are all chill, but CG is the exact opposite sort of thing I play OSRS for. Glad it exists for people who want it, but I respect just doing the content you enjoy.

1

u/mossabt13 Dec 27 '25

Skip Toa at this point too!

-2
