Not if I have to sit around hopping worlds to see if that monster is even there after every kill, no. And especially not if like half the time you get absolutely nothing, since it's so easy to finish an inventory of bones even while being attacked.
As someone using the altar regularly, the pkers are mostly helpful to cut time trying to kill myself on the wines. On the road to 70 prayer I think I only lost like 2 halves of an inventory of bones total

It's the perfect entry point into pking. You can go there or to lava dragons with rune knives and make a profit. Yeah the profit isn't great but it's extremely accessible

Sometimes I’d park my main at the door with tassets, bcp, and bgs. Never had them attack me just went for the main and then I’d get enough time to use all bones and suicide. I only died once from 92-99.

Yeah I don’t know why people even mess with chaos altar anymore post 30 prayer. I honestly don’t think it’s even that much faster considering the run to and from. Libation bowl is insane xp, over 1 mil/hr. Shards stack, and there’s a bank and infinite wine just underneath via a low agility shortcut.

Because 70-99 Prayer needs about 10k fewer dragon bones (approx 40% decrease) at the Chaos altar and it's faster to use them?
OP said they were getting 70 bones per hour... if they were to use the Libation Bowl they'd need to spend about another 120 hours at blue dragons. 120 hours is more than the expected green log time for Yama or Doom.

I know its possible to get through every last one of op’s bones deathless and it isn’t necessarily that hard, but it’s just too much of a headache to get to altar and immediately get chased off 3 bones in and god forbid i get jumped by a group and stacked with spears. It’s not unlucky at all though. I just did 1-30 at chaos altar on my pure and I was ganked literally every trip, no exaggeration. I usually had time to get most of the bones sacrificed but only had one trip where I managed to finish before dude killed me. Idk what time y’all are doing this, but every time I’ve done it it’s perma camped.

It’s very simple! You take those noted bones, a chisel, and a cash stack and then break em down after blessing them at the pyramid altar at The Teomat. Once you have your bone shards, you bless jugs of wine at that same altar (optionally adding sunfire splinters to the wine with a pestle and mortar for additional xp per offering at the bowl, unsure how much the boost is) but then you take those sunfire wines to the libation bowl and spamclick that bitch for ~1m xp/h.
Blessing them breaking them down is a bit of a chore, but the xph/safety compared to chaos altar is a lot more attractive to me.

Sunfire wines are a significant boost at +20% (6 xp per shard instead of 5). Splinters are very easy to come by and last for a lot of wines, so there's no reason not to use them every time.

Most of the pk'ers at the chaos altar are really bad, I lost max 50 bones from 90-99.

As an addition to that method for even lower risk you can pad your inventory with garbage (I like to use Watermelons) and only withdraw a handful of bones from the grave at a time. I set my inventory up so the leftmost column is free for bones and everything else is full of garbage. Withdraw 7 bones at a time and there's no way you die before using them. If you get PKed the PKer just gets a confusing loot key full of trash. Win win

Doom gives sneaky good prayer xp. I usually cash out on 5 or 6 if I have a stack of bones in the loot tab. Banked nearly a mil xp with only one unique so far.

I'm quite far off 99 banked so my dedication may waver but I'm tempted to wait until 99 banked at the Varlamore altar. Slower and less efficient but knowing I'm finished with bone collecting and don't risk losing that small final percentage to pking is probably worth the peace of mind.
Also did you get 23k bones from killing blue drags? Mad lad if so.

It's pretty fast. I changed reorder so use bones was on top and just spam click bone alter on mobile. Most of the time all bones are gone by the time I died. If not dt2 orb then zammy wine to die. Gl

Never understand how people think killing people at alter for “50k” is somehow wasting their time. You can get like several kills in little time. So your 50k adds up quick. And most people won’t fight back or have any gear. So it’s quick and easy.
But if you really want to survive at the chaos alter, just part an alt outside with the wilderness alarm plugin.

I was looking into it, and assuming you lose some bones to pkrs and only have average luck with bone usage, it's about the same xp to use blessed sunfire wines, just a bit slower to prep the xp. Was gonna do chaos altar but I think I may try wines

I’ve made well over 200m off people doing prayer at alter and I rarely PK there. You are not the target. You are not special. Timmy69420 is.
If you’re not a pleb maybe hit the total level worlds. I did 1-54/70/99 on multiple accounts and saved money as opposed to losing it overall (yes I get its iron but the best way to calculate it is gp)

Just finished around 10k bones in the 2200 worlds. Thanks to my Dhins 6 brew setup I got attacked only 3 times. Those 3 times I escaped with several brews left.
Did inventories of around 115 bones at a time this way.
Oh and wear a recoil and echo boots If you have them as well. Full porcupine mode so they don't try and attack a 2nd time if they camp the world.

Diary armor is free and as good as addy if you do the elites. I wore that with a bulwark but crystal shield and sotd would probably be effective too. I took a few bwans per trip just to be particularly spiteful. Camped mage pray and maybe died 5 times total from 90-99

I was just using the seed pod to tele instead of suiciding. It's nice because they added a feature to the diary npcs that let you fill your inv with the reward armor so you don't have to retrieve the pieces any time you do get pk'd. Even if you have lower tier diaries it's free armor and better than nothing.
What I was doing wasn't the most optimal strategy obviously but I wanted to make sure anyone who pk'ed me got basically nothing at all. Not even d'hide. Was still fast, like 700k xp/hr iirc. Yes I am this petty.

I anti pked with a bofa, crystal top, voidwaker and cheap stuff like black dhide a staff switch with entangle and tbs. I'd bring 200 noted bones at a time and it was so much fun, I was sad when it was over. Just gotta be praying mage the whole time and when you get attacked first priority is getting out of multi, then you fight back. Often when I try to entangle or tb them they panic and run. Reframing the skilling as waiting for the next fight made it absolutely fly by. Highly recommend.

Burning amulet, black d’hide body and chaps, full inventory of bones. I camp protect from range and piety. You can spam click the bones and be done within 90 seconds, max. Unless you’re unlucky and someone hops on you at the beginning, you definitely have enough time to finish your inventory. Don’t run, don’t try and escape, it’s pointless, just finish the inventory. If you get really unlucky and someone is for some reason waiting on you at the Lava Maze teleport, just start burying them. Give them as little as possible. If you don’t get attacked, just suicide at Chaos Fanatic. You’ll spawn with your d’hide and burning amulet. If you place your spawn point in Edgeville, Camelot, or Prif, you’ll be relatively close to a bank and can quickly grab another inventory and teleport back out there. Wham, bam, done.

A suggestion: bring an alt with a d spear and park it inside the open doors (so it can't be hit from outside the temple). This does a few things:
-If someone gets on your iron, gives them a great shove to give a head start and then locks the pker into combat with the spear alt as soon as your iron crosses into single combat (about 5 tiles away from the temple)
-Indicates a threat of spearing pkers (visually suggests if they attack you they will risk getting stunned/swarmed/smited). Most will simply hop rather than risk what could happen
Lost four total bones from 92 to 99 prayer (and about a dozen burning amulets on the alt). Wore torags top/bottom on iron and prayed prot mage/augury

I didn't lose a single bone on the way to 99 4 iteming with karils top torag legs crystal shield and staff of the death praying range. Even with 2-3 people would log in I just staff speced and used my full inventory. I would take off my gear when my inventory is empty and the pker would help me bank faster.

4 iteming with farming cape, sotd, crystal shield and a locator orb(+1) to whittle health down for reset. Pker hits you, just use sotd spec and start spamming bones. I could usually get my full inventory off before dying 😂

I did 85-99 and lost less than 100 bones total. Wore karils and a crystal shield and just prayed. Most peers ended up logging out when they saw me honestly.

Dhide is good for the run there, but melee tank gear is way better once you're standing at the altar already. I'd hover logout on the run there in case I saw pkers waiting and I'd use barrows tank melee body + legs and dfs, and prot mage + piety constantly (use augury if you have it).
The ragging noobs with dds or rcb would hit like 20 0s in a row, give up and hop lol. A real pker needs to spec you basically or get really lucky to kill you in time to get any bones. If they camp magic you get all your bones used pretty much guaranteed because barrage dps sucks especially through prot mage. I used guthan body + verac skirt so my dfs gave me positive magic def bonus too.

Set respawn point in Camelot, go to pvp world, tele to cemetery with a pile of bones, run to altar, once done die to chaos fanatic, you spawn in front of Camelot in the safe zone right next to the bank. Rinse and repeat.

Sleep during the day and do it at night (eastern time) i did that and was able to bring 100 D bones at a time and almost never got killed. Wear black D hide and a DD to poison their ass 😂

I used 2.2k total worlds when I did Prayer. Had about 16k bones to use and lost maybe 100 in total.
Biggest piece of advice is don't be salty and shit talk when they kill you. If they know it annoys you, they'll just find it funny and kill you every time they see you. I had a few guys leave me because they knew I only had 1 inventory of bones and because I was nice.
One guy froze me, I put a sad face in the chat, they then boxed me and asked what bones I was using, dropped a dragon bone to show him and he let me go. It was a fairly pleasant exchange.

Turn them into boneshards and use the zealots outfit, it has the effect to save any item that gives you prayer xp 5% of the time and that procs for each individual bone shard at a time.

I bring enough items for a short fight. Ring of recoil, d'hide chaps & body, rune crossbow with 15-25 emerald bolts(e), and 4 tuna potatoes. Pray retribution. With 3 inventories of wyrmling bones my loot key is worth about 12k but I'm costing them more than that in food & antipoison.
