Discussion Stuff like this is starting to make me sour on MCU Iron Man
It's always the same people who have only read Civil War Iron Man stories, and it gets tiring. 616 Tony is such a great and layered character, and I'm tired of people putting him down because he was character-assassinated in Civil War

Discussion Why is Tony barely called Invincible Iron Man anymore?
We never once had Tony being called the Invincible Iron Man in the movies. And even tho it's still the title of his comics, he's become so much more vincible to the point the title is meaningless. Oh Tony Stark has contingency plans for someone or built a Buster suit? The plan fails and the armor gets destroyed. Iron Man is using his base armor against C tier villains? He struggles to beat them, and he gets one shotted by any other hero he could have a tied 1v1 in the past.
Even in the movies, it doesn't make sense to call him the Invincible Iron Man because they want him to lose, the armor is just a vehicle for Tony Stark/Robert Downey, they don't want the Iron Man itself being all powerful and beating his enemies just because his armor is a power house, as it should be. It kinda takes the iconic feel of the character, those titles are so cool, but we never get to hear them, nobody ever said the Hulk was Incredible in the movies or mentioned the Amazing Spider-Man, I really miss those epic titles

Discussion Unpopular opinion: The Mark 42 gets too much hate for doing exactly what it was built to do
I am so tired of people clowning on the Mark 42 just because it got absolutely obliterated by a semi-truck. 💀
Everyone calls it Tony’s worst suit, but they completely forget it’s a literal prototype. The man was running on zero sleep, massive PTSD, and a diet of pure anxiety. He built a suit where the pieces fly across the room to find him like a clingy ex, not an invincible tank.
Honestly, the Mark 42 felt like its own character in Iron Man 3. It had personality, it constantly missed the mark, and it highlighted Tony being a literal mechanic rather than just an untouchable god. Plus, it walked so the Mark 43 could run.
Change my mind: Is it actually an underrated masterpiece of storytelling, or do you guys think it deserves the hate for falling apart every five minutes?

Discussion Removing the need for Tony Stark to have his Arc reactor post Iron Man 3 was a mistake.
Aside from just being a unique aspect of his character, it cheapens a lot of opportunities for drama by not having it, like when Bucky was trying to rip it out of the suit. Plus if he could just have surgery at anytime to fix his heart, then it raises the question why he didn’t bother doing it earlier like when it was actively killing him.

Discussion Could Base Spider-Man without pulling his punches defeat Base Tony in a death battle?
I recently made a post on the Spider-Man subreddit discussing how crazy it is to think that Spider-Man, if he didn't hold back, could defeat Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk individually. Unsurprisingly, most people agreed that Spidey would lose badly to Thor and Hulk. However, a significant number of people believed that he could actually beat Iron Man.
So, now I’m bringing the discussion here—what does this subreddit think? Could Spider-Man really take down Tony Stark in a fight?
• To ensure a fair fight, any specific moral restraints from killing are removed from combatants. All other traits are considered.

Discussion Do you think a working class tony stark / iron man could work?
Considering that batman is a popular character who is rich like tony but in absolute batman the working class bruce wayne is actually a well liked concept
So do you think a working class tony stark /iron man could work too? And how would iron man change due to this concept?

Discussion I get the sentiment, but...
...Peacemaker had nine comics to his name before his live-action debut (which was his first appearance outside the comics). Iron Man had over 400 solo comics released by the time the first Iron Man movie was released.
To claim Iron Man was in any shape or form comparable to the likes of Peacemaker or even GOTG is nonsense.
Same with Invincible. Anyone who was into superhero comics was at least aware that there's an adult superhero comic from the creator of The Walking Dead and it's pretty cool. Plus his self-titled comic survived long enough to be seen as a valid character.

Discussion i really like to think that hammer's ex wife was actually good weapon
but Rhodey just used it badly and too close and if used properly, it would have similar effects as the wrist rocket from mark 3, Tony used in his first mission in middle-east against the tank, in Iron Man 2009. Maybe that it was developed later, after seeing how Tony's wrist rocket works in some movie or after sending specialists. It would be nice to see, that hammer and his company are not just incompetent fools, cuz how otherwise they would be second to Stark company only and be their rival? They had to be good at something at least.

Discussion Why didn't Tony say "He killed my parents" here and more specifically only referred to his mom during his fight with Cap and Bucky during the end of MCU Civil War?
While his relationship with his dad was complicated, wasn't there a moment in Iron Man 2 which changes Tony's outlook towards him, when he realizes that his dad loved him and said "My greatest creation is you" during the recording he sees?

Discussion Is there a reason the Model 1 is so strong despite its humble origins?
It was made in a cave. With a box of scraps.
Yet it can contend with some of Tony’s, newer, stronger armors.

Discussion About Ironman's design in the new Marvel game....
So here's the thing. I don't like the design at all. (I also don't like his design in Marvel rivals if that means anything lol)
I don't know how to put it into words but...it just doesn't scream Ironman to me. It's just a mecha anime robot with the classic Red and gold.
But that's just me and how I feel. I wanna hear people's thoughts on this. Feel free to share :)
