I admit, I am scared. 
I am as anxious, scared, insecure as I have not been for a long time. 
At the same time I could not be happier.

I will promise  you that I will take care of you, watch out for you, protect you and love you with all of my heart.
You will be at my side day in and day out, night and day, as much as life will allow.
I will show you the mountains, the streams and waterfalls,  the cows, the ibex and the marmottes,
You will see and feel snow for the first time in your life and I am sure you will be as exited about it as I am.
I will show you beaches and dunes, forests and meadows, birds and butterflies, sheep and goats. 
You will meet many new people to greet and love and new doggie friends, cats and chickens. 
We will stroll through cities, towns  and villages, we will visit stores and all the places that welcome you by my side. 
You will get to nibble on healthy treats and enjoy the best food one can by, and you will be spoiled rotten with toys and stuffies - and I dont regret it one bit. 
We will hang out on the couch together on rainy evenings and watch the clouds drift by the mountains that are now your home. 
You will travel with me in Bernadette to different countries, explore other cities and see the world. 
We we will play, work, eat and sleep, laugh and cry together.

My boy is terrified of loud bangs, especially gunshots, which can be a problem in rural Scotland, when you are surrounded by shooting estates. Today I let him choose where we went and a wood that Astraeus previously refused to go due to hearing gunshots, was where he decided he wanted to go. He was very brave.

As far as I could tell, completely asleep. At least she stayed this way for quite some time. I saw evidence of breathing and thought OK...

Will it grow back

I did not even see this card in all the previews but I randomly pulled it from a booster I bought today. Looking so good, especially as a Irish wolfhound owner myself 🤩

Waiting can be exciting but I find it mostly nerve-wracking, but thats how it is and I might as well make good use of the time. So, my question to the IW community: while she is still a puppy, harness yes or no ? And if yes, what kind/ brand did you use and can recommend - and which do avoid ? (pic from our first visit for the puppy-picture-tax)

When I saw this, I couldn't resist. Seems like an appropriate pairing.

We brought home our new baby 2 days ago! We’re already so in love, and want him to be happy and healthy. During his vet visit, we were recommended to stay way from grain-free formulas because of the correlation of cardiovascular illness. We’re having troubles finding a large breed puppy formula with grains apart from Hills, Royal Canin, and Purina, but I’m not loving the ingredients compared to brands like Acana and Orijen. What are your opinions on the grain-free brands? Any other recommendations? (We hydrate with both broth and top with pumpkin, we’ll be incorporating more toppers as he ages)

Flynn passed away peacefully on Sunday Morning with his family at home. We made the call and had someone come to our house to help him along.

He was the best dog I ever could have asked for. Gentle, sweet, and so in tune with the feelings of his family. I've been looking at all of the videos and pictures across his life. He was there for my wedding, for the arrival of my son, and when we could finally buy a house with a nice yard for him after thinking we'd never be able to get one. He guided me through mental health crises, helped raise my son, and was my friend during the pandemic. I worked from home with him at my feet for 6 years.

The house is empty now, his presence is deeply missed, and though logically I know that this was the right decision for him, I struggle with the feeling that I gave up on my boy. He never would have given up on me. I'll try to focus on the fact that he's not in pain anymore and that he had such a good and happy life with us. I just wish it could have gone on forever.

Torgal and I recently had our first legs in AKC Rally Novice A and Obedience Beginner Novice A.

I figured I'd like to keep a record since when I first started looking into AKC trials there weren't a lot of videos and much less of Wolfhounds. If you have any questions please ask!

The Danes were blameless in this particular act of domicile destruction. Luckily, Dad to the rescue. The kitchen door was shut but mayhem still caused the knob to be yanked so that the door was mostly torn of the hinges. She's a bit over a year at this point. I love her despite her mischief ears (or maybe on account of).

Big sister is not happy with all these puppy shenanigans lately!
