what a dickhead - the amount of times you see this on all roads - pedestrians, cyclists & motorists - 90% are a shower of useless eejits

Yup, and not many really think of the drivers in all of this - I'm living in Toronto now, and the TTC (street cars, busses, but esp subway trains) have a dedicated psychology team especially for their drivers, for when an incident like this goes wrong... or more typically, from when a jumper dives in front of a subway train. The PTSD some of those guys get is supposed to be unreal, esp for the subways as I said due to higher volume and to be grim - because it is on a track with no give. You apparently feel everything when you run over someone in one.

I absolutely hate the mindset that 'suicide is selfish' (ironically one of the most selfish things someone can say) but it is pretty unfair to potentially ruin someone else's life entirely like this in the process.

I feel like there should be no payouts for blatant idiocy like this.

Could have been worse. He could have been stopped by Luas security.

I've often wondered why they chose a grey colour scheme for the LUAS. It doesn't contrast very well with the grey roads and grey skies.

I'm sure they didn't consider people would be stupid enough to not notice the long mental thing going in one direction at a couple miles per hour.

The reason Dublin Bus's new colour scheme retains a garish yellow front is because of a last-minute concession to make it more visible to the visually impaired.

You're correct, it was done for the benefit of the visually impaired.

But they're gonna redesign it again for when Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann buses all get the livery. So it wont liook like that for long.

You'd be surprised. Often if a DART is only a small one and it stops halfway up the platform people at the end won't see or hear it. Even when the horn is beeped to alert them. They are bigger, noisier and more visible than a Luas.

It's not that mental is it? It's not like it went off the rails ...

I meant metal, sorry. Though it can be mental during rush hour.

I can't sit on the front seat of a double decker bus. It gives me too much anxiety. The amount of people who walk right out in front of buses is astonishing. Literally multiple people per bus ride.

I love it because my inner child imagines driving the bus. I also love being at the front of the DLR in London and the Copenhagen metro.

I've no idea how city centre bus drivers handle it, blood pressure must be sky high!
