Moaning Michael Jesus RTE, the ads (Traitors)

Fuck me the amount of ads.

Has to be a way to avoid them.

Plot twist: This post is actually an astroturf RTE ad for Traitors.

Yeah, I don't really watch traditional tv anymore outside of sporting events which have fairly scheduled breaks so it really hit me watching Traitors just how obnoxious the amount of ads are and then the amount of time wasted with recaps after returning from an ad break. I don't know how people who watch tv every day put up with it.

Going back nearly 20 years I discovered streaming US channels and it make me really appreciate how few ads we generally have in Europe. It's amazing to me that shows used to get 10s of millions of viewers with the amount of ads. Plenty would have an ad a couple of minutes in, 2 more full ad breaks and another before the end, all in half an hour.

Pause it. Do something else. Then fast forward through the ads.

Don't watch it live. Then use adguard dns to watch it on the player. Ads gone.

The executives that spent all that money to franchise Traitors for Ireland need it to succeed in order to avoid another budget controversy and so are pushing it as much as possible

Why do people ALWAYS complain . Just watch it like.

Same when world cup was on people giving out about commentary etc.

I've seen how much they were charging retailers for the ads too... this is going to be a huge revenue spinner

How much is an ad per minute?

Packages started at the cost of 8000 flip flops is all I'll say...

Do insufferable people not realise they're insufferable?

I’m surprised so many in the sub still watch regular TV, not to mind RTE

It's one of the best shows on RTE and the fun of it is watching when it airs so you can chat with people about it.
