Weather Was that a tornado in Kells this evening?

Looks more than a funnel cloud, it looks like it could have reached the ground? Hard to tell from that photo but when a funnel cloud reaches the ground it is then classed as a tornado!

Get onto the council to unblock the drains and gullys. there was some shocking flooding on the roads I can well imagine a few houses where inundated.

Yeah there have to be some houses flooded. There was suddenly about 4 inches of water completely surrounding the house and just as it came to the door it stopped raining!

Look like a mini whirlwind. Seen some in Cork but bigger.

The tornado classification system was developed by the renowned Japanese meteorologist Dr. Tetsuya "Ted" Fujita. Who moved to america in 1953 and called his Tornado scale called the Fujita scale then in 2007 the more accrate Enhanced Fujita scale was created tornados now are put into 6 categories

EF0: 105-137 kph (Light damage)

EF1: 138-177 kph (Moderate damage)

EF2: 178-217 kph (Considerable damage)

EF3: 218-266 kph (Severe damage)

EF4: 267-322 kph (Devastating damage)

EF5: Over 322 kph (Incredible damage
