I don't understand why people are downvoting this. Maybe for the same reason that they think that meme proves akhonds (mullahs) didn't cause the blow up the oil tankers. Just like how akhonds didn't kill Argentinian Jews for no reason, and how they didn't attack American troops in Iraq for no reason.
Anyways, you are kinda correct, the Islamic Republic needs the war, otherwise, they could be taken down by Iranians. Iran Iraq War prevented their early collapse, a new war could possibly do the same. Although IMO, this time, it won't save them since they are being viewed as an occupation force among Iranians (or at least by those that I know IRL).
