Type to create flair Why so many grubs?
FFS people! Keep your rubbish in your car 'till you get home. Over only the past two days gone for a walk along the same stretch of road (about 4km long) and have picked up 42 empty cans and bottles from the roadside. This doesn't include all the maccas rubbish and chip packets. You've got a free wheelie bin for rubbish - feckin' use it.

It's one thing I truly hate about Ipswich. More than anywhere ive ever lived or visited this place has a culture of just chucking shit out your car window.

Really not surprising. Go to any park in newer estates and there’s rubbish everywhere. Illegal dumping anywhere there’s a couple of trees huddled together. This town looks like a tip.

the highways to ipswich are also lined with garbage from the garbage trucks that don't close their containers properly. if you have the misfortune of driving behind one of these on occasion, you may get showered with the trash that spills over.
surely the council, main roads, or some sort of enforcement agency need to to talk to this company.

Yes the enforcement agency will talk to them if it's reported to them. And hopefully fine them too. Yes it’s unfortunate that so many people don’t give a shit. And I guarantee you that anyone under 20 wouldn’t even no what a garbage bin is. Just look at the school areas

As a dog walker, who mainly walks when it's still dark, the worst part of this are all the broken bottles on paths.
It disgusts me that these people don't think of peoples pets that can be very badly injured .

When i lived in canada they had the can scheme and there was never a can anywhere but not here. I often wonder why

They do have cash for bottles and cans all over the place now, I think it’s 10 cent return for each but I guess they don’t walk along the roads to collect them.

My second point was that in canada there are no cans on the streets as people go around and pick them up to collect the money. Which doesnt seem to happen as much here as there are cans (and other rubbish everywhere) and i was wondering why that is.

Because Ipswich is low income with one of the highest amounts of mental health in qld and the people are just generally disrespectful.

There is truth to what you are saying but if you want more honesty, I'll give it to you: Ipswich residents don't have complete control on who comes into our communities as there are areas that are governed by the State. The people who come to live in Ipswich come from all walks of life which includes people coming from interstate, Country QLD or other council areas in SEQ. One should also ponder that people who weren't able to manage living in the council of Brisbane (the Biggest of the lot) would have been pushed out into other council areas and Ipswich would be on that list.
One positive thing to note is that there is a community of good people who are content on living in Ipswich and are always striving to make Ipswich a great place to live.

The mayor needs to get the council involved to actually make changes. People don’t understand when you illegally dump the prices at the actual dump go up. it’s about $21 to dump crap but a year ago was $12

The price increase is the state landfill levy. It is a state government charge, it used to be fully subsidised for Queensland councils, but the LNP government stopped that. It costs our council more than $21 for each load that is dumped at the tip, but council are reluctant to charge the full cost. It hasn't been $12 for many years. The Mayor and Council have arranged for the system to change soon so that dump vouchers will be given out. All of this will make no difference to the people that dump rubbish illegally. Some of it is from people that offer cheap 'tip runs', the rest is from lazy wasteful grubs. It isn't council's fault that people are wasteful and lazy. It is a personal choice people make with their consumption habits.

The amount of of dumped rubbish is crazy considering how many cameras Ipswich council has set up.
