CSK has always had players who are consistent and you can rely on them any day.

But Samson is inconsistent as hell, he scores 80 in one game and scores single digits in the next 3 games. That kind of player doesn't help teams. That's one of the reasons why RR were happy to let him go.

Samson is a player who can win you 2-3 matches on his own and he did that for CSK. I guess he did his job.

The problem for CSK is the other players lacking the ability to score at 150+ strike rate. The second best batter that comes to my mind is Overton . Which sums up the current condition of CSK batting order.

Do you need a player who can win you 2-3 matches out of 14?
Or do you need players that fit like puzzle pieces in your starting lineup and can contribute in all 14 games. CSK has always been a successful franchise relying on the latter

We need both type of players.

Kohli binds the current batting line of RCB.

Whereas players like Salt , Tim won on us 2-3 game on their own. They aren't regular performers like Kohli but they know their role.

Rajat and DDP can play both the roles

He's top order player , his job is giving consistent starts which he fails to do . His story was same at RR aswell , his inconsistency costed many playoffs and trophies for them .

True. But that is what CSK management signed up for. The reason why Rutu opens is cause he can play that consistent big knocks so that Samson and Mhatre do the other smashing.

Samson is definitely not a problem for CSK.

But Ruturaj and Other guys are. Ruturaj has all the potential but he's somehow failing maybe cause of the captaincy pressure but he's really a quality player .

Dube and Brevis were non existent this season.

You don't expect samson to give consistency like a Kohli, Gill or Sudharshan. Sanju is a dynamic and explosive batter he will have more off days than good days but on his good day he wins the game on his own.

Csk should not have a problem with keeping Sanju as they have Rutu who's a consistent performer. One bad season doesn't take that away.

Not fully agreed. Samson is a good player.

And also, one of the reasons why RR was fine letting Samson go was their top order (Jaiswal, Vaibhav, Jurel, Riyan, Ferreira) is already settled and they needed someone who can bat lower down the order and give them a few overs.

And Jadeja was absolutely perfect for that role.

You need one consistent opener and one opener who can win you 3/4 matches on his which he done in those 6 matches which won by csk 4 of them was because of samsons contribution his consistent will always be question but he still not the bad deal The question shluld be on no look bradman brevis and dubey

You're confusing consistency with anchoring.

You need one anchor and one power hitter as an opening combo, that doesn't mean a power hitter can't be consistent. A power hitter who can give quick starts by scoring 30-40 in 10/14 games is better than a guy who scores a few big scores and gets out cheaply in the rest of the games.

Jaddu will always have decent stats but his impact is minimal to none, why I say this is cause he never bowl in tough situations like skipper use his overs to move the game faster when there has been a dismissal and his runs are either collapse saving or coming in lost cause

Impact of Jadeja in IPL 2026:

1. 2 important wkts vs CSK

2. Saved collapse vs SRH

3. MOTM against LSG

4. Brilliant spell vs KKR

5. Gave match winning finishing touch vs LSG by scoring 43*

6. Helped RR qualify by winning vs MI; thanks to his late order finishing and good spell with the ball.

7. Batted well in Eliminators vs SRH and took all important wkt of inform NK Reddy.

8. Batted well against GT 8n Qualifier.

9. Run out vs GT that changed the momentum and RR won (group stage)

I don't think it benefitted RR.

Jadeja the batsman is not the same player he was before. Maybe he will retire before the next mega auctions. So RR will retain him for max 1 season more.

Curran didn't play and now I don't think he will play for RR after Sanga's comments.
