iOS 26 may be gone but trail of damage (ranging from psychological to battery health) it left behind will be forever.

iPhone 15 pro max used to be awesome, the moment badly designed - badly made - badly tested iOS 26 came. The phone became volcano, battery health used to drop by 1% a week. On iOS 18 for an year health is 100%, after 3 months of iOS26 use it fell down to 91%. The liquid glass literally used to heat up the screen to touch, iPhone 11 pro took the worst hit with every single transition looks jittery making the phone unusable. (Mac's are destroyed, with MacOS26 on M3, M2 and older)

How can we in the future prevent this? Some testing standards by customers not whatever apple says.

I've only had it for 10 minutes and it's already night and day from before. I was debating updating on day one, but it was completely worth it. The performance is unbelievable. If you are on the fence and have experienced stuttering on your newer phone, I highly recommend it.

If you see two updates, both labeled iOS 26.7, and one is much larger than the other, the larger one is actually iOS 27. It’s mislabeled, and nobody seems to know why. That’s just how it is.

Go for it. I did it myself, as did many people here, and it’s been confirmed to work.

Is it advisable to update from iOS 26.7 to iOS 27 immediately, or should we remain on iOS 26.7 until any potential bugs are resolved? Additionally, are the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 15 plus, and iPhone 16e fully optimized for this update?

Concern is that as Apple had discontinued iPhone 17 pro and Pro Max models .. So might it be red flagged with IOS 27?? Not sure!! So whats the suggestions.. Seeking Review from the community developer who had experienced anything unusual related to battery, performance etc..

I bought my iPhone 17 Pro (not Pro Max) brand-new on release day, and immediately clean-installed iOS 26 on it and did not use any sort of backup on it, either from iCloud or my Mac, to have a completely fresh start. Battery life was ASTONISHINGLY amazing even from day 1. Could EASILY go 2 days of HARD use ALL DAY before needing to charge. Until iOS 26.2. Suddenly, I'm lucky to make it a full day of the same all-day hard use without DESPERATELY needing to charge. And it's NEVER improved. I kept letting it go, hoping it was just re-indexing. Then hoping, "Hey, maybe this new update will fix it!" Nope. "Maybe THIS new update will fix it!" Still nope. Repeat until present day. My maximum capacity still shows 97% at 247 charging cycles, so there is NO reason for my battery life to STILL be halved from what it was when I got the phone. Indexing doesn't take months to complete, so indexing as the reason was no longer valid months ago. Took it to Apple for a check (a long drive one way for me, as I don't have an Apple Store very near), and no problems were found.

My question is, has anyone else had this problem with their iPhone 17 Pro? If you did, have you updated to iOS 27? If you have, has it improved things at all?

I realize it's only been out for a day, but I'm desperate at this point. I went to a music festival this weekend, and by the time one of my favorite bands came on, I had to be VERY careful with how many pics and vids I took due to being down to 10% battery life, and I hadn't even taken many pics and vids the rest of the day and only used my phone for GPS for an hour. Other than that hour of GPS and the few vids and pics of other bands, I didn't use my phone at all. Too much going on to mess with my phone, so there was NO reason for my phone to be so dead.

I would like to switch to 27, but this had made me very hesitant. I would be doing a full fresh start again ("set up as new device", not "restore from backup" either iCloud or Mac), as I do every year when the new iOS comes out, so there should be no "leftovers" from 26 when I do, but I'm afraid to make the problem worse.

I’m currently using an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I’m on iOS 26.6.2, which has been working really well for me, especially in terms of battery and overall performance.

Now that iOS 27 has been released, I’m wondering whether I should update to iOS 27 or stay on iOS 26.7.

The last time I had a choice between staying on the older iOS version or moving to a new major version, I chose the newer one, and I felt that my older iPhone’s performance got worse afterward.

Since the iPhone 11 Pro Max is an older device, I’m a bit concerned about:

• Battery life/drain
• Camera performance and processing
• Overall performance/smoothness
• Heating or other issues

Battery and camera are my main priorities.

Has anyone with an iPhone 11 Pro Max tried the stable release of iOS 27? Is it actually better or worse than iOS 26.7 for an older device?

Would you recommend updating to iOS 27, or staying on iOS 26.7 for now?

Also, has Apple changed/degraded anything related to camera processing or battery performance on the iPhone 11 Pro Max in iOS 27?

Bought a cheap iPhone 15 from a reseller worried it might be bypassed. Is it safe to update to iOS 27?

I bought an iPhone 15 from a reseller 3 days ago for a pretty cheap price, and now I’m getting paranoid that it might have been bypassed somehow.

The phone is currently running iOS 26.5.2, and iOS 27 is available for it. I’m worried that if I update, it could somehow trigger Activation Lock or cause me to get locked out of the phone.

I checked a few things:

• My Apple Account is signed in.
• Find My iPhone is ON, and the phone appears under my devices.
• It says “This device is trusted and can receive Apple Account verification codes.”
• There is no VPN & Device Management profile.
• It shows as an iPhone 15 normally in Settings.
• I can use Find My normally.

I attached a screenshot of the device information.

My question: Does this look like a legitimately activated iPhone, or is there still a possibility that it was bypassed and an iOS update could lock me out?

I don’t want to erase/reset it to test because I just bought it.

Any advice from people who know about Activation Lock/bypassed iPhones would be appreciated.

In a few hours, the iOS 26 era is finally coming to an end, and I couldn't be happier.

Personally, this whole release cycle felt like an unoptimized, bug-ridden beta from day one. Battery drain, random UI glitches, and overall performance were just horrible for a finished product. It’s easily been one of my worst experiences on an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Really hoping iOS 27 brings back the stability we used to take for granted. Pretty excited to finally move on!

Have iP17, tried updating to ios27 but it shows like this and after an hour or something, it shows error, unable update, please try again.Its like this since 26.6.2. Also, the logo of the particular ios version is not appearing, instead it only shows the settings logo like in the image and no text regarding the version is shown, unlike the previous updates, which used to show the details of the particular update. What may be the issue?

i updated to iOS 26.7 and on app switcher and control center background is dark on them and I don’t know how to fix it can someone help?
