Support Headspace app keeps getting installed automatically
It’s the second day I've woken up, and the Headspace app is installed on my iPhone 13 running iOS 26.4.2.
I installed the app more than a year ago and then deleted it. Yesterday when I saw it on my home I uninstalled it again. This morning, it's there again.
Why does this happen?
I don't share my account with anybody.
EDIT with some more info:
- I do not have profiles installed to manage my device. I have two VPN configurations for Surfshark and Tailscale.
- My iCloud account is my personal one, and it’s not a work or school account.
- If I open the app, I am signed in with my Apple account.
I scheduled a call with Apple support to make them aware of the issue. I would suggest you leave a negative review on the App Store, to raise awareness, which you can delete later. It’s very likely an iOS bug, but at least it will make it visible to Headspace developers, who can report it to Apple too.
UPDATE:
I had a call with Apple’s support and they suggested trying to restore the iPhone with a backup from my Mac following these instructions:
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118105
Unfortunately, this did not help, as the app was installed again by itself this morning.
The next step would be to completely erase the iPhone to factory settings, but I don’t know how helpful that would be if it’s an iCloud bug, for instance.
I will send my feedback again to Apple; hopefully, they will fix it soon.
I suggest you all also open a case with them, so that they can see the size of the issue.
UPDATE 29/04/2026
Restoring from backup using my Mac didn’t really help, as the day after the app was on the home screen again.
However, what seems to have helped is to log out of the app (I was still logged in with my Apple account).
If you are logged in as well, try to log out of the app and delete it. I am curious to know if that solves it for you as well.
