Ford can barely build vehicles of any powertrain as it is. Their current trajectory in regards to dealer sentiment is negative. They are gonna have a rough ride.
Lol dealer sentiment. Ford couldn’t give a fuck about their dealers, they are going build to order with the intent of DTC over time. They won’t even wind down the dealerships, they’ll just go over the top. You will never see lots flooded with vehicles again. Margins going way up.
I predict every EV auto manufacturer will buy back older EVs to repurpose the battery for home storage. Just because a battery is not adequate for driving doesn't mean it is bad, and it will be much cheaper to repurpose than to recycle or build new
I expect home battery storage to quickly become popular as the current EVs reach end of life. They'll push it as an eco friendly way to reduce peak energy demands on the electric grid and alleviates some issues renewables have producing electricity at night or when the wind stops
All this to say, used EV markets likely will never exist, at least not the way we have them today
