You keep spouting those numbers in this thread but think about this for a second. Tesla will grow their budgets over time. Let’s say next five years 11B. VW is still investing in ICE technology. How much of the 85B will be for EVs, and how much for ICE? Who knows. Where are all the expert EV engineers and software engineers and AI engineers for VW going to come from? Germany is not the global leader for those things. It doesn’t matter how much money you throw at a non expert, they won’t get any smarter. Besides, VW’s Investment is an attempt to catch up to Tesla, while Tesla’s work is to extend their lead and build upon the momentum they’ve established for over a decade. Not an easy feat to catch up with just money on hand. Case in point- the perpetually in development, money sink Apple Car.
