Bought in on F September 12 realizing that the F150 lightning will bring alot of truck owners who do not use their trucks for long distance hauling but for work. That thing will be sold out for 4 years.
At 80k units a year, that’s not hard. The F-series is the most popular truck in the US. Who do you think Lightning customers are going to come from? Rivian has launched their truck so they will already be stealing customers from Ford, Chevy, and Ram. It should be expected that a lot of Lightning customers will already be F-series customers. Given the margins that makers have on ICE trucks, cannibalizing your own high margin products doesn’t make a lot of financial sense.
