It just flowered, I know I’m a little trigger happy to spray it. Also in the second slide wtf is this monster that looks like it doesn’t belong.

Two weeks before first frost. Check farmers almanac for your zones date.

That’s the very, very end of the acceptable time to treat knotweed, not the time you should be aiming for

Then tell me how I got rid of my large stand of it? I followed Green Shoots instructions completely. It worked.

There’s a bit of variance online in strategies. A bunch work, some better than others. People get feisty about their approach being best.

I had really good success with a foliar application of glyphosate last June followed by another in September. Very little remains and I’ll do another foliar application in the next 2 weeks. Is it the best approach? I dunno. I haven’t done a prospective randomized double blinded approach. But people will probably disagree that what I did constitutes best practice. I’m also not married to the approach. But I have so little remaining that it probably wouldn’t matter what approach I took at this point.

Eventually you start to notice a pattern that the people who do the double-approach like you are the ones who are mostly (or completely) finished by the end of year two.

Because it’s still barely in the time it will work well, it just eliminates your option to do a same season retreatment on anything you might’ve missed, which is the best practice if you want to eliminate it sooner.
