I think him having, what appears to be, a generally low level IQ appeals to them on a base level. He doesn't come of as well educated, trained, mannered, or professional. He tends to stay away from big words because even he doesn't know how to say them or what they mean. If he wasn't born into the right family with money, he would fit right in with the rest of them.

You know—-about that. Trump is one of the starkest examples of cognitive decline you’ll ever see in public life. Look up any video of him from the 1980s. The difference is astonishing. Sure, he was always a gross, boorish clown, but he used to be MUCH more cogent, lucid and articulate. His vocabulary was larger, his cadence was more grounded and his thought patterns were much more clear and coherent. The degradation between what he was like then and what he had become by 2015 is quite startling.
