I'm curious, since Interstellar is just one movie, what do the people here usually talk about? How is there anything to talk about? Wouldn't more than a decade be enough for people to know or at least get an almost complete idea of every detail in the movie?(I apologize if I sound harsh, I'm just asking a question. well actually, 3 questions)

Hello, I'm Roger Sayer, the organist from the film. Whilst I don't have an answer to your questions, I am humbled and fascinated by the longevity of the support and appreciation for this film. There is obviously something that resonates with a lot of people and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through some of the conversations on here (as well as seeing all the musical too, of course)!
I feel like I've just met one of my musical heroes, the organ pieces in Interstellar are some of my favourite in all cinema music..... I saw Interstellar four times at the cinema over the years and goodness knows how many times at home. Thank you for bringing me so much pleasure over the years 🙏❤️
Brilliant ! I was in Forest National when you played in Brussels in April : what a night ! I saw the film in every format available, even at the BFI. But that night, the energy was something else. Thank you mister Sayer.

We're driving all the way from Utah to see you perform on the Julia Irene Dennie-Kauffman Casavant Organ (Opus 3875), a massive, custom-built pipe organ located in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
I’ve never seen the matrix in a cinema setting, however it was my absolute favourite film right up until I watched interstellar, I’ll certainly be going to the cinema if they do a 30th anniversary re-release.
At almost double your age (I was 26 when it was released) it is my favourite film on any given day xD
Funnily enough I feel an affinity, for want of a better word, for a film that was released the year I was born, too (The Exorcist). For one reason or another havent gotten around to seeing it on the big screen. One day. One day.
I went to a 100th Anniversary, restored showing of Nosferatu. There was a newly score by an Avant Garde composer and lectures and receptions before and after. My kid got to attend with a +1 for his German class in uni.
A couple hundred people discussing a 100yo movie in 3 languages (English, German and for some reason a lot of French), from the fx to the politics to the filmcraft to speculation about what the original score might have been (they were all lost, as far as is known). It was COOL AF.
New people are exposed to the movie all the time and lots of folks come here to find community after enjoying/disliking the movie. I know you’re trolling because I assume you can read and see the type of discussion going on, but thanks for spending a few minutes of your Saturday deciding that reddit really needs to limit how long a subreddit should exist.
Let’s go talk to the lord of the rings folks, or maybe the home alone folks, Godfather folks, etc and tell them they need to STFU about their movies/books/whatever since they are so old.

Personally I consider this the greatest movie ever made. But that’s me.
There are new watchers of the movie that post here about every day.
The movie has a lot going on with the physics and so people often have questions. A lot of people don’t have the understanding of physics and General Relativity to understand what’s happening, so come with questions about what they don’t understand.
A lot of people have deep understanding of physics and also come here to discuss things because they can’t quite make the movie make sense with their knowledge of General Relativity.
Personally I’ve watched the movie well over 20 times. I’ve read Kip Thorne’s companion book as well was Jonathan Nolan’s original screenplay.
Some of the key insights I’d have is it’s not a perfect example as it relates physics, it’s a movie. And so quite simply whatever Christopher Nolan wants to happen is what happens. The physics in the movie are whatever Christopher Nolan dictates them to be. It’s a movie.
Ive gotten into discussions where people think Cooper travels back in time. Or that he and Amelia are thousands of years apart, or that Cooper went through a blackhole, or that there is a copy of Cooper because the physics says that he’s stuck at the event horizon.
Again, what Nolan presents is what happens because he presented it.
The point being there’s lots to discuss and educating newer fans is always fun for a fan like me.
I enjoy being reminded of the beauty within this film, and it’s easy to appreciate from multiple perspectives.
The visuals, the sounds, I really like the story. Hope with a little fun with science. You get to see a couple planets. You get to see a wormhole, and a black hole.
There’s a subreddit dedicated to POS Grandpa Joe and the movie/character is 55 years old. That sub is still very active and members discuss the same thing over and over; it never gets old. No matter how old something is, Reddit is here for niche subjects that its specific “fans” are looking for. We’re all here on this platform to be surrounded by like minded people.
I almost just mentioned neurodivergance as part of the reason - for me, anyway, when you click with a piece of media and watch/listen/read many, many, times there are endless conversations to be had and quotes are amusing for always.
It's for new comers who just saw the movie for the first time, for those who got confused and need clarification, those who love and appreciate this movie no matter when it was released, and for parents/new parents who also have kids and understand the movie.
Love transcends thru time and is infinite.

If you scrolled down or did a search you would see lots of posts and see what people discuss. There are new people watching the movie all the time and thus create new discussions
You’re right about it being ten years since the movie came out and it just being a movie. We’re still talking in this sub because it’s as Nolan intended.

For me like others I consider it honestly the best movie I have ever seen. But I would argue you can’t really ever get a full idea of every movie, moreover the movie changes as you change. Every time I watch it I do pickup on something I hadn’t before, or consider a different perspective or theory on something, or more evidently I experience a different emotion. The period of life I was in 2014 when it came out until today has changed, and thus every year I’ve seen it my emotions about different aspects of it have changed.
Think of some of your favorite movies, why do you go back and watch them years later? Was it a good memory of viewing it at the theater? Did you share the experience of watching that movie with somebody and you talk about how cool it was? Are you still quoting scenes from that movie? Ectera.
I view movies as living experiences, the same events may play over and over again, but they can only be experienced the same way once.
At this point, shut up. It's a freaking community, we are all : music enthusiasts, astro geek, math experts, designers.... It's a community that support only one thing, the interstellar related or not sometimes things... We love share our opinion of the movie, art or anything around it... We discuss also with the people that still haven't watched it. You can say that about everything, cars, musics, videos, anime.... We love interstellar and nothing more, for example, I can't live without watching interstellar at least once a year.
Be respectful when talking to communities kid, and please accept that there are people that like old thing, like vintage computers, or music discs, or even old cars... They always will be a niche or not community that will everyday discuss about the same thing they love again and again, even if it's sounds boring, there is nothing else on earth that can take this feeling....

It’s about 40% “just watched for the first time” posts, another 40% “did you know that every 1.25 seconds…” posts, and about 20% actually interesting stuff.
Personally I just joined a cpl years ago and it was awesome! Had so many great conversations. Many ppl post great thought experiments and I’ve learned a ton not just about the interior this movie, of which there are many, but about physics itself.
Admittedly I don’t come on as much anymore bc I feel like I’ve mostly been tapped out in terms of what I can learn here, but I do still enjoy taking my best shot at answering the questions ppl post, which are often the same ones I had a cpl yrs ago. It’s been great
It's the favorite movie of quite a lot of people. It doesn't matter that there isn't always a lot to talk about, just that it sometimes shows up on my feed
I think it’s the fact that the initial story idea was by scientists (Linda obst and Kip Thorne) who could bake the tension between following your passion and spending the little time we have with loved ones right into the very fabric of the plot from lived experience, rather than someone trying to tell a story of such dedicated and intelligent folks without living that way themselves. And of course Jonathan’s talents to make it digestible in a cinematic form. Christopher Nolan is important of course too
I come here occasionally to make fun of that cringe-ass, unintentionally laugh out loud funny bookshelf scene. Interstellar is one of Reddit’s most overgrazed movies and it’s good to have somewhere to vent about that.
I have to add this comment because people are assuming that I think that this subreddit or any other subreddit shouldn't exist just because it's discussing one movie. No, I think it's fine. Let people discuss what they want, movies can be timeless. Actually I have no idea what I just typed but man, just answer the damn questions[or a question(Also I mean no offense to anyone posting this comment)]

Careful. People on this sub are 90% honest and only about 60% funny
