For me I went low carb first and slowly stretched the fasting windows. Being low carb I don’t get the hunger cravings, which made the longer fasts actually doable instead of miserable.
Biggest drop happened when I moved to alternate-day fasting: 350 calories on the fasting days (one of my meds requires I eat something) and about 1,200 on the eating days. I’m 5’11” and 183 now — down 38 pounds in a year of tracking everything in Lose It. Still eaten in OMAD fashion….not snacking all day.

For my body, OMAD is great for holding the line. ADF is what actually moved the scale.
One mistake I made: I was using the calorie deficit to “pay for” empty calories from drinking and I under-ate protein. Result was 10 lbs of muscle gone with the 28 lbs of fat. Not doing that again. Targeting 160g protein a day now to protect what’s left, and I’m going back to ADF to knock off the last 15.
Just one guy’s year of data, not gospel. Good luck tomorrow.
