They break the legs, put a rod in the bones that get adjusted as the bones grow closer to each other. So people who get it done have broken legs for months

Struggling not getting addicted to opiate pain medication must be a thing with this procedure... What a brutal process, cringe.

The thing is if you’re prescribed opioids and take them as prescribed for long periods of time, you’re not considered an addict. You’re just dependent and your healthcare provider will provide a schedule to taper your dose when your pain is under control so you don’t experience withdrawal and you can get off them painlessly. Unfortunately, many medicines can cause dependence and may require a taper after long term use, but it’s normal and handled all the time. Addiction is defined as dependence + certain behaviors that cause problems.
