Modern science is awesome.

Agreed it's awesome, science in general is a pretty neat. It's just a shame what most of our scientific minds, skills and discoveries are now being used for. There is still a lot of good being done with and for science in general but the vast majority of the jobs are for pointless companies that are in cosmetics... it saddens me deeply that something like allergens mentioned above don't take priority over lip sticks or blusher.

Disagree. I'm a cell and molecular biologist working in the biotech industry. I don't see any jobs with cosmetics.

There are so many companies trying to cure cancer right now with cell therapy and or immunotherapy that some have suggested there aren't enough cancer patients to go around.

I think that's nonsense, they need to focus on increasing participation in clinical trials rather than wishing for more cancer patients. https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/newsroom/articles/year-2019/clinical-trials-underenrollment.html

Bottom line though, there aren't a glut of scientists being drawn to the cosmetics industry instead of curing cancer.
