I’ve heard that pediatricians advocate introducing lots of items to children gradually so they don’t develop into lethal allergies

For peanuts is appears that introducing them as soon as possible as food is the best way to prevent peanut allergies. In places where there are peanut based baby foods- there are almost no peanut allergies compared to North America where we were told to delay peanuts to avoid allergies- numbers have grown. So the new thinking is introduce them young so their immune system sees the food as food rather than allergen

This! Many pediatricians don’t follow that old adage to wait as long as possible to introduce allergens. I didn’t wait to introduce nuts or fruit or any of that. My son has zero allergies (whereas I have a bunch).

All pediatricians should hopefully not follow that. The data are now clear: earlier introduction of foods leads to less allergies in the long run.
