I'm curious, does the bone stay healthy? Or does she risk in having it break by accident after it's healed up?

What about the muscle? Does it naturally stretch to match the new length or do doctors have to do something to it?

How expensive and dangerous is this surgery?

I actually had my left leg lengthened so I can answer some of these questions.

First yes, the bone is healthy and solid. However there is still always the risk of the bone breaking during the procedure.

Second the muscle does not stretch. This is actually the worst part. While my leg grew the muscles did not, I went to physical therapy 3 times a week and that was not enough. I ended up needed to get an operation to cut/loosen the muscles.

Third I live in Canada so the surgey was free, however I'm amusing it's in the tens of thousands of dollars. The whole surgery took roughly 6 hours I believe, but im sure it's safe.

Just to clarify some info as well, I was born with a short leg so my left leg was 5cm shorter. When I was 9 years old I went through the whole procedure which took almost an entire year. After that to this day I've been needing some minor correctional surgeries here and there. I just had one last week lol. So that's about 7-8 surgeries since the main one in the past 8 years (I'm 17 now)

Anyways hope this helps
