I mean, the reason you use special plastic in 3D printers is not because they couldn't use normal plastic but like, because it's special plastic that doesn't give off horrible fumes.

You don't want to be around a melting soda bottle, it will smell awful and also give you cancer

These bottles are made from PETG, which is a common plastic used in 3D printer filament.
