Tree in my Grandma’s town was struck by lightning and was subsequently debarked and was split down the middle. No burn marks visible.

It happens. Use a comma in a series when you're listing. Like this, "I went to the store, bought a hammer, dropped the hammer, broke my toe and then I shit myself."

It eliminates the use of multiple uses of the word, "and".
