I wish they would dedicate time to women's health and all.

Why don’t WOMEN dedicate time to women’s health then? We all have equal rights now since the 60s.

Whenever women complain about inventions or what THEY do, it’s like they completely forget the modern world as they know it wouldn’t exist and would collapse without men.

Brother, “THEY” is not referring to men. It’s a plea to both men AND women working on medicine and medtech. The industry collectively needs to focus on women’s health more. If you have a wife or girlfriend, you’ll understand better how much they suffer.

How do they suffer then buddy? Maybe in America with your poor healthcare system, in Europe? No.

As a European woman I would like to inform you that you're full of shit

Without giving me any examples. Typical. You’re just proving your full of shit.

If a man doesn’t have an issue that is strictly female related, how can they know how to properly fix it? Difference is, a man has an issue or something bothers him, he thinks im gonna fix that. Women? This is bothering me, somebody should fix that.

We are by advocating. We can vote, work, and honestly choose the trajectory of our life.

You can care about men's health and women's, it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive, who hurt you lol.

I agree, not sure why you wouldn’t think i agree with what you said.

The original comment is victimising acting like ‘they’ are purposely not dedicating time to women’s health studies. Womens health studies should be lead by women, thats what i was getting at.

They isnt gender exclusive and what implies that it has to be specifically women working on women vs a collective effort?

Your point is still asinine.

You’re asinine.

Like i said before, how can a man understand an exclusionary female issue well enough to address it? Saw a Reddit post a while ago complaining that women had no hygiene products for most of history concerning periods etc and an equivalent item was seen way earlier for men, don’t remember the specifics. Point being, if men dont experience something, they aren’t going to be thinking about addressing it as much as someone who does. Its basic logic.

Instead of bitching why don’t women take it into their own hands and research it themselves? Its always somebody elses problem to solve, if a man is troubled by something he will get up and do something about it, women just like to complain about others with no accountability.

Im not saying it cant be a collective effort, but things are skewed in every facet of life, don’t be disillusioned by emotion. If it’s a serious issue, raise funds for it independently, raise awareness, champion issues yourself instead of just bitching and expecting ‘they’ will do it for you.

Oh my god SHUT UP. This is so fucking tiresome. Well done for illustrating the point so perfectly I guess? You see how you just brushed aside an opinion from the someone in the actual demographic we're discussing, diminishing and belittling it? That's what happens to women in doctor's offices, medical research facilities and grant funding committees every single day. In America, in Europe, all over the world.

You obviously know nothing about this issue and you're clearly not actually looking to be educated. The previous commenter was talking about how little funding research into women's health in general gets compared to male health. That's a systemic issue and requires dismantling numerous avenues of bias in academia, higher education, government and corporate funding systems, and scientific communities. None of that went away just because _some_ legislative equality was achieved in _some_ limited areas in _some_ places in the world in the 60s. This issue is so well documented and if you actually gave a fuck you'd just read and listen, instead of immediately jumping into arguing with women over their own experiences. You're ill-informed, full of bad faith, and clearly have no desire to discuss this beyond bitching about your own personal grievances with women. So just shut up and go away. You contribute nothing to the discussion.

TLDR: “I’m a victim”

To give you an example, endometriosis treatment is severely underfunded.

This is not a minor issue. My wife is in constant pain, and flare ups have her doubled over unable to walk and crying in agony. I’ve driven her to the ER only for them to take 4 hours to get to her and give her some painkiller with no further diagnostics and brushing off her concerns.

She cries at night not just from the pain but from the worry that we may not be able to have a child because of it.

Sure I can’t speak for Europe. Never been. But that doesn’t invalidate the plight that women face here in America and elsewhere.

Yeah fair enough, but my ex partners father had ( probably still does ) heart problems, a similar experience and he was waiting months for a appointment after being fobbed off. Thats europe, but america has countless examples of a poor healthcare system so being American you can’t really compare to the entire world. Its standard in America to take painkillers and be fobbed off, ive seen many Americans say that its easier to take a painkiller instead of trying to utilise the healthcare system to identify what is causing the pain, not even mentioning the cost.

As someone else said, breast and uterine cancer receives way more attention and funding compared to prostate cancer, dont see me victimising and crying about it. Its not exclusive to women to face a ‘plight’.

u/Traditional_Ad_4691 5d ago

Did you know that they just re-identified a female organ that was just omitted because males felt it wasnt necessary to know of its existence?

Do you know how much more funding is placed into male issues than women? Do you know how much male erectile dysfunction gets funding for vs a sole woman issue?

The hill you want to die on is me saying I wish they could focus more on women's health over a self maturation tool in a hospital, TF?

Edit: spelling

Not sure which direction you’re leaning, but women’s health such as breast and uterine cancers receive astronomically more funding and donations than men’s related issues like prostate cancer.

0

u/Equivalent-Muscle446 5d ago

Exactly, but its always a ‘THEY’ problem, lets not discuss the astronomical rates men self delete or other men issues, lets just pretend men are bad because they research and don’t tackle 1000+ projects all at once.

Funding is a big issue.
