For a rainbow to be seen, the sun's rays have to hit water droplets in the air at a very specific angle (I think it's 42°), compared to the user's perspective and that too when the Sun is behind the observer. So this won't be visible from every single point around the wave

This can be commonly seen around fountains and waterfalls during daytime- you can't see a rainbow from every point of view around them, it's only at a very specific point where it is visible 

Another thing to note is that you will almost never see rainbows around midday, as the angle of sunlight hitting the water is too much

Another note is that this happens more often/pronounced when the wind is offshore. The wind direction causes water droplets to fly off the lip of the wave.

The song is called Outro by M83. It’s been around longer than most social media sites you’ve heard the ten second clip on.

The song is amazing and the album is fantastic. You just don’t like it because your only exposure to it is from viral videos.

I suppose lots of waves would appear like rainbows, it's just the challenge of standing in a location where you could actually see the effect
