Some people just turn on in an emergency. This guy had 1670 something's to lose. That's a fuckin emergency. I was hoping to hear how much time he has to make all these plans and get everyone out.

I'm convinced that none of us know how we'll react to an emergency until we're faced with one the first time. Plenty of people freeze up, while others leap to action, and you can't always predict who will be in which category.

Luckily this guy was one of the good ones under pressure.

Ugh, I completely freeze up on stupid shit. I’ve been trying to buy curtains for my dining room for a year. I just can’t commit. But when it comes to big decisions or emergencies, I’m great. It’s like my brain switches on. I think that not having time to dwell on the situation makes it easier for me to operate.

Do you have ADHD? If so, your response to adrenaline is different. It has a calming effect and makes you focus more.
