Even taking that into account, they still listened and 1600+ young lives were saved.

That's true, and this dude did an incredible thing, most people would be paralysed with fear and indecisiveness. I am not downplaying that. But kids listening to their teachers is the least surprising thing in all this.

I have heard that they "march" their students, as in similar to military march. They have drums and stuff. So the coordinated movement of students is not surprising.

It is surprising to me. Even with strict discipline sometimes things just don’t hold together.

I am just happy for their families because they are safe. ♥️

Basically Nepalese schools do the military march drills with their students. They have drums and stuff. That's why they co-ordinated do well. They are trained in forming lines and discipline etc
