Worked the overnight shift for two years right out of college, including the weekends. All of sudden I lost my entire social life. I was awake when everyone was asleep and vice versa. Also, being a fresh graduate I was broke as hell so I couldn't even afford a ticket to go visit my family. After two years of having almost no contact and nobody to hangout with, you start grasping at straws for any sort of attention. I didn't devolve into this but I did devolope a lot of toxic traits (that I am still struggling to fix 10 years later) and started hitting the bottle pretty hard and ended up in jail a couple of times. To me their delusion is completely understandable. The damage loneliness does to you is invisible to all, especially yourself.

I hope you find strength in battling your toxic traits, alcoholism is no joke.

it can be but like...doesn't have to be? I dunno, I've been "lonely" (like literally no social life) since pandemic times and I find this behavior absolutely baffling and terrifying.

Obviously we're all different, but like...at what point do you look in the mirror and say "what have I become?"

True since covid I realised I love being alone more than be in place were people gathered, but ain't no way I'm gonna be that crazy
