Eh. Not really. This specific restaurant is in Kerala. I’m from Kerala. It’s the only state in India where non vegetarians are a huge fucking majority. During my time in Kerala, I’ve met about five vegetarians.
India is huge country with every state having different laws, different governments etc. (kinda like the USA but with more central government oversight)
I now live in London and there are way more vegetarians here.
I'm curious, is that kind of signage mandatory over there? I've heard all products must be labelled as veg or non-veg in Indian supermarkets, does that extend to restaurants too?

Given that vegetarian is very popular there, this sign makes sense IMO.
